Barn Meadow Whaley Bridge Sleeps in bedrooms

Barn Meadow is an early 18th century detached barn, situated within the owner’s grounds in a secluded location on the upper slopes of Eccles Pike with some outstanding views across the Blackwater Valley, towards Combs Reservoir in one direction and the Goyt Valley in another.

In undertaking this conversion the owners have followed environmentally sensitive principles from conception to completion and hope to encourage others to do the same.

The barn retains many original features, oak beams, exposed stone walls and Welsh slate floor downstairs; only by staying here will you appreciate the innovative design principles adopted.

The original gritstone roof has been re-laid, and the building has been insulated using British sheep’s wool, there is under-floor heating downstairs and it has eco friendly paints and wood finishes. All heating and hot water is provided from a carbon neutral wood pellet stove in the lounge.

You enter the accommodation into the open plan kitchen area with occasional seating and table, there are beams and exposed walls adding to the room’s character. Two steps take you up into the very spacious lounge and dining area, a door to the rear takes you to the patio and enclosed garden area with breathtaking views of the surrounding locality.

The stairs from the entrance hall lead to the two bedrooms, both with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, and each with their own en suite shower room, with shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet.

The main bedroom has a king size double bed, the second bedroom has two single beds.

Garden and patio area takes in the views of the area and there are excellent walks from your doorstep.
