| The village has its historic Sheep-wash bridge over the River Wye, its ducks and the Church of the holy Trinity. There are two public houses, one restaurant, a café and an excellent village store. It is also close to the market town of Bakewell, Monsal Dale, Buxton, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall and there are some excellent walks from the doorstep. You enter, off the hall, into the spacious lounge and dining area that has a herring bone wooden floor, exposed beams, decorative stone arches and an Ashford marble fireplace with a gas flame effect stove. The lounge leads through to the breakfasting kitchen that has all the essential equipment you will need for your stay. The stairs from the entrance hall lead to the three pretty bedrooms, there is a king size bed in the main bedroom to the front, a second double bed in the middle bedroom, and a 2’6” single bed, more suitable for a child, in the third bedroom. The well-fitted bathroom consists of a bath with overhead shower, hand basin, toilet and bidet. There is a cottage garden to the rear with a pergola that takes in the sun from early morning to late evening. The village is close to the main bus route from Manchester to Nottingham. |
