This attractive apartment is the ideal romantic retreat, set in a peaceful part of the Peak District countryside with a fantastic selection of walks directly from your front door. Stride out on foot to explore the long-distance Pennine Way, or take a delightful circular route to Hope Cross, where the views are simply stunning. Enter the property via a shared entrance hall and up a flight of stairs to the open-plan apartment. The space is elegant and tastefully decorated, with feature rugs, plush soft furnishings, and subtle lighting. Enjoy a romantic dinner for two at the dining table by the window, before retiring to the comfy sofas with a glass of wine. At the end of the day, pull down the double bed in the cosy alcove and wake up to gorgeous countryside views out through the pretty French doors. The private patio is a real haven of tranquillity, surrounded by open grassland and boasting spectacular, far-reaching views.

Hope is an extremely pretty village, with a great selection of independent eateries and shops selling local produce. After the walk, treat yourself to a hearty meal and a real ale at the traditional village inn. Nearby Castleton is full of fascinating history. My wife and I really enjoyed our week's stay, in this very well designed and provisioned accommodation. It was great to be able to sit out on the terrace and look up at the fantastic views. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. We plan to return before too long.

It is also a 10 minute walk into town which has a few shops and a couple of restaurants and pubs which is really handy. Really lovely, compact accommodation with views of surrounding countryside. Trains trundling past at the far side of the field make for a colourful and not intrusive addition. Watching the shepherd and his collie at work from the comfort if the balcony was a real bonus. Highly recommended.

The local pub just a few yards down the road served homemade delicious food. The property is a little gem, well equipped and peaceful. We will certainly book again.
