A spacious apartment in a converted mill with unbeatable waterside views. The property offers a private riverside terrace for alfresco dining and there is an 18th century pub nearby.
The impressive apartment sleeps four guests in two king-size bedrooms and is located right in the heart of the Peak District National Park, in the picturesque settlement of Miller’s Dale on the banks of the River Wye. This exceptionally beautiful section of the river winds through spectacular limestone dales, offering a huge variety of walking opportunities. To experience the hustle and bustle of the national park’s larger towns, head to Buxton or Bakewell (8 and 10 miles respectively), where you’ll find a great selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
The apartment is situated in a former mill, and the entrance to the property takes you through a grand foyer with several steps. Once inside, discover a very spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, where two large windows fill the space with natural light and offer wonderful waterside views. High ceilings and imposing furniture create a sense of grandeur in this sociable space, which features a large dining table to enjoy evenings of great food and laughter together. In the evening, sink into the plush sofas to watch the TV/DVD or enjoy an after-dinner drink on the shared riverside terrace, soaking up the tranquil surroundings.
From Miller’s Dale, you can join the traffic-free Monsal Trail, which follows the route of a former railway line through the limestone dales. Alternatively, take a stroll upstream along the river to explore the delights of nearby Chee Dale and Monk’s Dale. For a real challenge, why not take on the long-distance Pennine Way? The 268-mile route stretches all the way to Scotland and starts in Edale, just 14 miles away. If you don’t quite fancy the whole 268 miles, then there are some fantastic circular routes near the start that encompass large stretches of the trail, such as the Kinder Scout Walk, which takes you to the national park’s highest point.
