We had a wonderful three-night stay at the cottage. It was cosy and welcoming, and the owner has clearly put a lot of thought into making guests feel comfortable. From the useful and well-written information pack, to including a kettle, tea and coffee, and even a thermos to keep milk chilled in the bedroom, so there was no need to walk the two fligRead morehts of stairs down to the kitchen. As others have noted, the stairs are quite steep, so may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. And if you're tall you might want to watch your head coming down them. We'd certainly stay here again. Hide

Lovely cottage in beautiful location 5-min walk to fields. Great places to walk dogs. Spacious lounge/bedroom, steep but manageable stairs. Tight galley kitchen and low fence noted upfront. Locals welcoming. Welcome cake/milk/info folder appreciated. Street parking available.

This cottage in Clifton, next to the lovely countryside pub The Cock Inn, is in itself very nice and the owner is very kind and helpful, but the premises were unfortunately quite dirty, particularly the kitchen, and the washing machine was so dirty that it was impossible to use it. Also, it wasnt mentioned anywhere that most windows overlook a streRead moreet with uninterrupted car traffic during the day. Not ideal for a holiday in nature. Lots of lovely touches, a vase of beautiful fresh roses, a bag of treats for our dog and a thoughtful welcome pack. We arrived on a Sunday & had a wonderful roast dinner at the friendly pub next door (booking is a must in my opinion). Lovely cosy cottage in a great location and two doors away from pub. Pub is under new management and we enjoyed a meal there. Loved the log burner - stairs are steep but not a problem. Very close to Ashbourne and supermarkets. A comfortable cottage and nice touches to make you feel at home. Yummy cake on arrival!

We had a fabulous weekend break. However we're in our 70s and found the two flights of cottage style steep bending stairs (like spiral but original wooden stairs) a little difficult. Everything else was fine. Kitchen tiny but we ate out in local pubs.
