Immerse yourself in the glorious Derbyshire countryside with a stay here in Baslow, a pretty village in the heart of the Peak District National Park. This beautiful chocolate-box cottage promises the perfect base for a stand-out walking holiday, comfortably sleeping six guests and ideally suited to a group of friends or a family. You can leave the car at home and set off on expeditions across the Derwent Valley, hiking the moderately difficult Curbar Edge route (2 miles) and getting lost in the mystical woodland of Froggat Woods (3.5 miles).

Beautiful both inside and out, it’s clear that no expense has been spared in making this cottage a wonderful choice of accommodation. Mosey up the stone path that’s lined with mature flora and step inside. The ground floor presents a generous L-shaped living space with a charming original fireplace. This has been fitted with a wood burner to create a cosy space in which to unwind come the evening. The contemporary kitchen is ready for you to prepare all your favourite meals; stock up on goodies at the nearby Chatsworth Farm Shop (1.5 miles) and cook up a storm. And, for nights when the wood burner isn’t required, the private patio with furniture and a BBQ is on-hand for al fresco evenings.

Just a stone’s throw from the River Derwent (0.5 miles) and with the rugged moorland of the Dark Peak all around you, you’re never short of outdoor adventure when staying in Baslow. Those who prefer a less strenuous day out will also be satisfied with visits to the historic town of Bakewell (4 miles) and a tour of the unforgettable Chatsworth House (2 miles). You may also want to book into Baslow’s famous Michelin-star restaurant (0.5 miles) for a luxury night out.

What a lovely Cottage in a great location. We stayed with friends from around the country, visited the Chatsworth Christmas Markets, walked around Barlow and Bakewell and had an excellent reunion meal at the Prince of Wales. Throughly enjoyed it - this is a great little cottage.
