This contemporary cottage enjoys a great location on the eastern edge of the Peak District, a much-loved National Park, offering walks for all abilities, from gently rolling hills to the heights of Kinder Scout. It is also just 5 miles from Chatsworth House, the filming location of Pride and Prejudice, and one of Britain’s best-loved stately homes. Many popular towns and villages are with a short distance, including Baslow (2 miles), Bakewell (6 miles) and Hathersage (8.5 miles). In the larger town of Chesterfield, you can browse the wide choice of independent shops and farmers’ markets.

A set of steps with a wrought iron hand rail lead up to this single-storey holiday cottage. Patio doors at the entrance take you inside the cottage, and immediately into the welcoming lounge area. Comfortable seating for four is centred around the wonderful wood burner, and there is also TV/DVD and a selection of books, films and games to enjoy. Over in the contemporary open-plan kitchen/diner, there is everything here to make the cottage a real home from home, including a Neff electric oven, gas hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Tuck into a homecooked dinner around the dining table, which easily seats four. This property is single-storey, and thus the bathroom and the two bedrooms are also on the ground floor. The first bedroom is reached from the lounge, and features four-poster double bed, and great views out to the hills. The second bedroom enjoys a twin bedroom, which can be requested to be made into a super-king-size bed at the time of booking. At the centre of the cottage is the bathroom, featuring a bath with shower over and a WC.

Outside, the property enjoys its own lawned garden with a private hot tub and seating perfect for soaking up the sunshine. There is plenty of space for some garden games or you can cook up an al fresco meal on the BBQ supplied. There is also a lovely water feature. The owner operates a small B&B alongside the cottage who's guests have their own private garden area too with every measure taken to ensure that you are not over looked.

Really nicely appointed cottage and perfect for couples or a small family, and great that it's dog friendly. The hot tub is a great asset and the pub being so local was really handy. A couple of small issues, but the hosts live on-site and were really helpful in terms of sorting things out

A lovely cottage, clean and very well equipped. But, whilst the garden is enclosed, it is NOT secure. Add to that busy roads very close by and we could not allow our dogs out in the garden unsupervised.

Really good little cottage, very comfortable and well stocked utensil-wise. Very warm and cosy, nicely decorated. Fantastic location. Great for dog walks right from the cottage. Short drive away from Bakewell and other interesting towns and villages.

The Robin Hood pub is only next door and they serve good food if you don't want to cook, it is also dog friendly. The oRead morewners are very nice people and run a B&B next door. Excellent breakfast available for delivery to your table. We plan to return in the future. Hide
