Perfect for a couple looking for a tranquil getaway, this beautiful barn conversion offers glorious rural views and is a fantastic base for walkers, cyclists and climbers. Set in its own idyllic grounds, the cottage is a fabulous retreat within easy reach of the delightful market towns of Matlock and Bakewell.

Entering this picturesque cottage via the stable-style door, you will find the fresh and inviting open-plan kitchen/diner. The lovely lounge is an ideal space to snuggle in the evening and catch up with a good book or watch a film. There’s also a handy breakfast bar and a light and fully equipped kitchen perfect for cooking your favourite meals. Going upstairs, the first floor features two rooms with low sloping ceilings: a stylish bathroom and a cosy double bedroom with a TV. Heading outside, there’s a choice of outdoor furniture offering a lovely, relaxing spot for enjoying some al fresco dining at the end of a great day. A flight of external steps leads up to an elevated seating area offering spellbinding panoramic views.

Nestling between the pretty village of Tansley (1.5 miles) and the popular market town of Matlock (3 miles), this lovely barn conversion makes a fabulous base for walkers and cyclists exploring the stunning vistas of the Peak District. Matlock has a welcoming choice of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. The village of Matlock Bath is a couple of miles further on, and is home to attractions including the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom. Other local attractions include Hardwick Hall (12.5 miles), Crich Tramway Village (4.5 miles), and the beautiful estate of Chatsworth House (10 miles).

This Barn is our little bit of paradise that we love to escape to with our Labradoodle. It is in the most perfect location. Lots of walks straight from the Barn. The Barn itself is small but perfect and has everything you need for a great stay

Blakelow Barn is just right for a couple its convenient for all the local attractions clean and comfortable could not fault it, we had a wonderful stay walking and enjoying the local pubs and restaurants.

I had a great week here, just me and the dogs. The views are amazing and it was a good base to explore the area from. Dogs loved the outside space, quirky as it is.

Smashing four night stay, cottage was lovely and peaceful, lots of safe area for two dogs to run around. Lucky with weather, had some great walks, into matlock, Tibet, Lea, tansley etc. Secluded but close to anything you need, loved it!

A really lovely cottage , very peaceful not a person to be seen, great outdoor area, very secure for dogs, loved the 2 pigs next door. Great location for Matlock, Bakewell, highly recommended a visit to Chatsworth House.

A lovely little Barn retreat set in a scenic peaceful location....warm and welcoming on entering and a beautiful bathroom with a comfy big bath to sink into....pure bliss after walking....good night's sleep though bed a little soft for my personal preference...make sure to take provisions as no welcome pack though pint of milk was in the fridge...

What a delightful location and the view was lovely. (only saw it once due to fog! It was winter after all!) Quiet and peaceful but handy for lovely places to visit. Its not for very tall people or those with mobility problems but I believe that is made clear anyway. Thank you.

Situated in a very quiet location, but close enough to walk to the village for a bite to eat. Such a lot to do in the surrounding area, from long dog walks to shopping experiences. Will definitely revisit and highly recommend.

We had a really nice stay here, our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The barn itself is a lovely comfortable,clean and cosy place to unwind. The outside space is a really good and secure area for our dog (Ernie the vizsla) to stretch his legs etc. There is a walk from the door to Ashover where you will find a nice pub(the old poets cornerRead more ) We loved it here and will definitely be coming back . A nice comfortable cottage in a lovely location. It is on a hill so has great views from the seating area and is private without being too remote. There are plenty of walks in the area with public footpaths to Ashover and Tansley which both have pubs which serve food and are dog friendly. The barn was gorgeous, it was fitted out nicely & really comfy. Loads of cupboard space for our food etc & the little touches like milk, cake, toilet roll etc was great. The garden was safe to let our two dogs run freely in with lovely views from the top seating area. There was lots of walks & places to visit locally. We enjoyed our stay, lovely remote location, a short walk to a footpath across fields and down to the village. We went to Chatsworth, Dovedale and Bakewell which were all scenic and dog friendly. The barn had an enclosed garden so happy for the dogs to wander. Excellent 3 night break with our two golden retrievers. Found a lovely footpath which lead us on a 1 mile walk to great local pub for some delicious food. The barn had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. We visited Abraham heights/Crich tramway and black rock all dog friendly. I have already passed on the details to several friends!

A great place to recharge. Ideally positioned and welcoming. Fantastic outside seating area with far reaching views, we were lucky to have great weather and enjoyed watching the sun going down. Very clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped wee cottage and very dog friendly.

From the moment we entered the barn it was obvious our dogs couldnt do any damage. The barn is warm and comfortable and we loved every moment we spent there. It is a fabulous place to stay and cannot be faulted

Cozy cottage, fantastic location and views. Gated and fenced lage parking area your dogs can roam around securely. Most definitely will return I loved the seclusion. Yet only 7mls from Matlock 12mls from Bakewell. I've already sent friends ghe link since they seen my FB photos.

The location is absolutely perfect, it's so peaceful and the views are beautiful. We stayed over new year with our dog Ben and he loved it as well. The barn was bigger than I expected but very cosy and had everything we needed. The area up the steps with the picnic table is lovely and there was plenty space for my dog to roam. Don't hesitate to book this property it's brilliant! Location is great if you like to feel totally alone it's very quiet and peaceful. We spent Christmas here with Hardy our spaniel and it was wonderful. There was a Christmas hamper waiting for us with a big bottle of Bucks fizz and a lovely little Christmas tree, a really nice touch, very much appRead morereciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this barn, It was very peaceful due to the secluded location. It was very comfortable and cosy. Great views of the surrounding countryside. It was an excellent base to visit the many attractions in the area.A local pub, around a mile away was accessible for a meal out.

Beautiful barn, very clean, well equipped and comfortable, with fantastic views. The location feels very private which is nice, but it is still close enough to amenities and a great base for visiting Matlock and further afield. We really enjoyed our stay!

Just wow, this barn is amazing. So very clean, it has everything you would need to enjoy your stay here. It is set in the most peaceful location. Lots of walks with the dog. We visited Matlock, Bakewell and Chatsworth. Loved the pigs at the end of the driveway. We will most definitely be coming back and can see it being a regular thing.
