Enjoying a secluded location on an extensive private estate, this beautiful loft conversion provides cosy and relaxing accommodation for two guests. Ideal for a couple exploring the stunning vistas of the southern fringes of the Peak District, this delightful property has wonderful views out across the surrounding woodlands. Overlooking a tranquil pond, with plenty of chances to spot local wildlife, this tastefully furnished property is a wonderful retreat for walkers and cyclists discovering the area’s glorious countryside.

Approached via a flight of external steps and a decked platform, patio doors lead into the property where you will find the refreshing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge is a relaxing spot to unwind with a good book or a film, while the kitchen is an ideal space to rustle up a favourite meal that you can enjoy in the charming dining area. The property also features a stylish shower room and an airy super-king-size bedroom with a Juliet balcony offering delightful views. Heading outside from the lounge, the fully enclosed and raised decked platform sits at the head of the steps, providing a lovely spot for al fresco dining on a lovely afternoon. There’s plenty of space to exercise dogs in the surrounding grounds where you will also find the pond and a summerhouse.

The property is a mile from the ancient village of Alton in the heart of the Churnet Valley, near the site of the Chained Oak. There are miles of walks to follow, with the Furnace Forest and the Tissington Trail both nearby. The popular theme park Alton Towers is also nearby (2 miles), or you could head to the thriving market town of Ashbourne (10 miles) which has a variety of independent shops, pubs, galleries and restaurants to discover.

We really enjoyed our stay at the loft despite the very wet weather on a couple of days. It was great that George our dog could be let out in the fully enclosed garden. Thanks to the owners for the welcome gifts and for allowing us to be in control the heating.

Loft is in a beautiful setting with lovely walks on the doorstep.It's great to have access to enclosed area for your dog direct from the decking,but to keep dogs on leads outside as there's lots of ducks and some goats in the grounds. Set in a beautiful, rural location. Lovely, clean and comfortable. Great walks from the door. Welcome pack of milk, bread, croissants and biscuits which was a nice touch. Great to have an enclosed deck area and grass area for the dog to use - lovely to see the ducks and rabbits everyday! One I would stay away from. The bed and couch are not very comfortable, the kitchen chairs are cheap and uncomfortable. it is on a lovely property and very clean, just very uncomfortable

The location is excellent if you want to get away from everything for a while. You can wonder around and watch the ducks and goats from the summer house in the evenings. There is a safe area to let your dog out during the day or evening.

Stayed here 23-09-2022,upon arrival to the property there was fresh milk,bread and cookies for us and lovely flowers too. We went for a relaxing weekend and that's exactly what we had,situated in beautiful location with only sounds of wildlife around. Small and compact but big enough for two plus medium sized dog. Great secure paddock which Sam our collie loved running around in. The location is lovely and peaceful, only disturbed by the sound of the owls at night. If over medium height need to be aware of sloping ceilings ! Overall recommended.

The cottage was perfect for a long weekend away! Location was perfect with plenty of beautiful walks minutes away and the peak district on your doorstep! We have a nervous dog too and the quiet setting and big fenced in garden was perfect! Thank you for a great stay we will be back!

Absolutely fabulous property in a stunning, quiet, tranquil location. The loft is very well equipped with a lovely welcome basket of treats and the hosts were friendly and helpful. An added bonus is the use of summer house overlooking the pond and the decking area outside. Wonderful woodland walks literally right on the doorstep!
