Located in a quiet village just to the south-east of the Peak District National Park, this delightful little cottage provides bright, cosy and welcoming accommodation for two guests. Set in a charming Derbyshire village, the cottage makes an ideal bolthole for a couple in search of a relaxing getaway. Featuring original exposed beams, a warming wood burner and a bubbling hot tub, this charming property is perfect for eager walkers and nature lovers making the most of the area’s hilly landscapes, stunning woodlands and picturesque villages.

 

Entering this pretty cottage you will find the welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With a roaring wood burner, TV and comfortable seating, the lounge is a lovely space to relax, catch up with a good book or chat into the night. The kitchen and utility area are fully equipped, perfect for preparing a favourite meal for two, which you can enjoy around the nearby dining table. The ground floor also has a useful shower room. Stairs lead directly into the light and airy first-floor super-king-size bedroom which features plenty of storage space and a high ceiling with original exposed beams. Stepping outside, the small private courtyard features outdoor furniture and a hot tub, providing a relaxing space for al fresco drinks in the evening.

 

The village of Middleton and the nearby market town of Wirksworth (2 miles) offer a wonderful variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops, with attractions including Mount Cook Adventure Centre, the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and the National Stone Centre. Walkers can follow the High Peak Trail, or visit popular destinations including Carsington Water (5 miles), Black Rocks (1.5 miles), Harborough Rocks (3.5 miles) and the bustling town of Matlock (5 miles). Other local attractions include Gulliver’s Kingdom, Heights of Abraham, Cromford Mills and Crich Tramway Village (all within 6.5 miles).

We had a wonderful stay at Stowe cottage and we would highly recomend it if visiting the area. Complete with a hot tub, we found it peaceful and relaxing, the bed was comfy and we slept well for two nights. The local takeway (Habibs) were quick to delvier and food was tasty. We met with many friendly locals and enjoyed drinks at the two village pubRead mores. Well presented cottage in a great location for walks in the Derbyshire Dales. Great local pub for food. Lovely relaxing hot tub. Super king size bed very comfortable. The bedroom is spacious with a lovely chandelier. Would recommend as we really enjoyed our 5 night stay

We had a really nice stay . Hot tub was amazing and made the holiday. I didnt feel over looked despite it being at the front of the property. Don't expect use of the hot tub on the day of arrival as it was stone cold when I arrived.I paid for a full weekend and only managed to use it on two evenings. Having been in touch with the owner himself and holiday cottages I was basically told there's nothing they can do,I asked for a nights refund and have been refused any kind of goodwill gestuRead morere. Lovely clean cosy cottage. Bed super comfy. Rainfall shower was lovely & hot with under floor heating. Washing machine if needed.Was super snug with 3 pointer type dogs but they just crashed in front of the wood burner after a long walk. The cottage was very clean. We went in December and there were some extra nice touches for the season including a Christmas tree in the bedroom which was lovely. The cottage suited our two night stay. The garden is at the front of the property but the hot tub is screened off from the road. The cottage itself is cosy and charming but the location is awful. No parking, and situated on a busy road with cars speeding up and down; which can be heard from inside. Lovely cottage and facilities, great location. From the photos it looks like the garden is secluded. But with the low wrought iron gate it is actually exposed. Lovely cosy cottage, the hot tub made it for us especially after a day of walking. Great shower and comfortable bed. However the cottage sits directly on a main busy noisy road which wasnt clear when we booked. We didnt use the oven whilst there either as it was dirty and in need of a clean. A beautiful, cosy and welcoming cottage in an excellent location for exploring the Peak District. An incredibly comfortable and cosy bed, a well equipped kitchen and the hot tub was very welcome of an evening (although the cover was a bit tricky to get on and off.) We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Cottage is well located for walking. Hot tub is great after a days walking. Bedroom is roomy and bed really comfy. Shower room is very nice. For our stay we found that the oven was filthy and we were not happy to use it. Cottage windows were very draft.

Cottage very clean and tidy I would only go again if had a small dog or on our own. I would not recommend going there with 4 large dogs . Place to small and no garden also not great for late night wees

Lovely little cottage, thoroughly enjoyed my stay their with my wife and dog. The new bathroom is beautifully done. The bedroom upstairs very spacious and bed was comfortable. The road noise was loud at night when cars went past but that is very minor.

Great week in the Peak District and this was a great cottage close to local facilities. It had everything you needed included a hot tub and open fire and it felt cosy and homely. Kitchen was well equipped and a great bathroom with huge shower.

For many years I have been visiting family in the Peak District, staying in different cottages and locations each time. This is by no means a terrible cottage, but it is the worst that I have stayed in. It is tired, and in need ofRead more some love and repairs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, cottage was lovely, traffic was quite heavy and the speed of cars was a cause for concern as we had our dog who reacts to motor cycles.
