This cottage is the perfect escape for families and groups wanting a quality and stylish base in the heart of this popular Peak District village with an abundance of countryside to explore all around.

Whether you’re looking for a stylish village retreat to celebrate a special occasion in, or a gorgeous stone cottage where you can get the gang from work together for a team-building session, this impressive property in the village of Longnor is a great accommodation choice. Spend your days hiking the limestone ravines of Dovedale or soaking up village life in Longnor’s cobble-stoned marketplace. In the evening, enjoy a sociable meal around the cottage’s dining table, or explore Longnor’s cosy pubs and eateries.

Featuring thoughtful, chic design touches throughout, this spacious cottage sleeps 12 people over six bedrooms. After a fabulous day exploring the national park, come home and make your way up a couple of steps to the sleek and stylish kitchen. The chef in your group will find everything they need to rustle up a culinary masterpiece. Get everyone together around the dining table under the beautiful chandelier in the living/dining room. After dinner, head out to the small courtyard with a glass of wine; slip onto the sofa in the living area and catch up on your favourite TV shows; challenge your friends to a table football tournament in the games room; or make your way to one of the local pubs for a pint. At the end of the day, there’s one bedroom on the ground floor, three bedrooms on the first floor and two bedrooms with low beams on the second floor (accessed via their own individual staircases) to choose from.

Grab your hiking boots and spend an invigorating day exploring the Roaches (6 miles). Together with Hen Cloud and Ramshaw Rocks, this gorgeous area forms a gritstone escarpment that’s been worn into fantastic shapes by the elements. Alternatively, hit the water at Carsington Water (19 miles), where you can try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing or powerboating.

Overall property was nice. Word of warning for the top floor bedrooms as the very low doors for the ensuite, although quirky, not great for adults. Parking not great as instructions say not to park outside, although the locals seem to think it's ok for them.

We had a fabulous week long stay over the Christmas holiday. This is a fantastic property in a great location. Facilities as described. It's a shame the village pub is closed, although we enjoyed the 3/4 mile walk to The Pack Horse Inn where they have a good selection of ales and decent food. Well stocked general store just across the road.
