Take time to unwind in this beautifully restored holiday cottage which combines elements of traditional comfort with contemporary design. Old oak beams are present and its furnished with style in mind for a memorable break.

Effortlessly blending traditional design with contemporary comfort, this restored stone cottage on a complex of farm properties in the picturesque village of Foolow is the perfect accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who want to get away from it all. Spend your days hiking the gorge at Chee Dale, and your evenings catching up with loved ones around the cottage’s flickering wood burner.

With its chic design touches and lovely old oak beams, this cottage is the perfect country retreat for up to six people and three dogs. After a wonderful day exploring the national park, come home and make your way to the open-plan living room/kitchen/diner. Pour yourself a glass of wine and cook up a feast in the kitchen area. If you have the kids or the dogs with you, they can safely play in the garden while you prep dinner, as it’s fully enclosed. Alternatively, light up the charcoal BBQ on the patio and dine alfresco. After dinner, sink into the sofa in the living area and catch up on your favourite TV shows as the wood burner gently crackles. When the day is done, there are three lovely bedrooms to choose from.

Grab your hiking boots and head to the pretty gorge at Chee Dale (8 miles). With its majestic crags and cliffs, it’s a gorgeous spot for a stroll. You’ll also have fun crossing the dale’s famous stepping stones. Alternatively, go on an underground adventure at Poole’s Cavern (12.5 miles) to explore vast limestone caverns adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. Back above ground, take a 0.5-mile walk up to the summit of Grin Hill to enjoy the spectacular views across the High Peak. On a clear day, you can see as far as Mam Tor in the distance.

Beautiful cottage in stunning area. 5 mins walk to great pub. Perfect property for dogs too. Penny, our host, was super. A great family (3 generations) holiday and super central Peak District location for exploring the local area. Highly recommend.
