Stay in this former art gallery town house which is split over three floors and situated in the heart of a well-known village in the Peak District National Park, surrounded by rolling countryside

Relax in comfort after exciting days out in the scenic Derbyshire Peak District when you stay at this exquisite town house in the picturesque village of Tideswell. Once an art gallery, it is now a beautiful, three-storey holiday home, complete with three bedrooms for welcoming up to six guests. Take one delighted dog with you too if you choose to this property, which could suit a family group or couples keen to escape together. Enjoy being close to shops and pubs, as well as right beside superb walking country.

Open the front door on to the hall at this stone house and then wander on through into the airy lounge, where you can settle down to play games together or perhaps watch the Smart TV. Find the kitchen/diner is also a welcoming space and is beautifully arranged for you to be able to prepare homecooked holiday feasts and to dine together at the table. Climb the stairs to discover two first-floor bedrooms: a double plus a king-size with zip-and-link beds that can be made up as twins if requested. The family bathroom is also at this level, while on the floor above, another super-king room can be found. Again, this has zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as twins in advance. Take the fresh air out in the garden on fine days. Parking is on the road close to the cottage.

Visit the village’s nature reserve within a limestone valley at Tideswell Dale; those who are energetic can pick up the 7-mile route from here that follows the River Wye along Miller’s Dale. Drive 9 miles to follow a gentle 3-mile route through National Trust land at Bronze Age hill fort Mam Tor. Head 10 miles for a day out to famous Chatsworth House.

I can't recommend this property highly enough, and the location is excellent. We stayed for 4 nights and visited Chatsworth House, Lyme Park, Mam Tor, and Lud's Church - all within easy drives of the house. My dog stayed with us and she had a fantastic time too!

We have just returned from a short break at Amber House and could not recommend it highly enough. Victoria was really helpful prior to our stay and even provided a welcome hamper for our arrival. The cottage itself had everything you would need, was extremely comfortable and clean and ideally located for all the attractions of the Peak District.

We stayed at Amber House for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is well equipped, clean and comfortable. We found Tideswell to be charming - some good walks, local pubs and shops, interesting to walk around, and not as popular with tourists as some other towns and villages nearby. We would definitely come back for more.

The best thing about this property is its location. Tideswell is a fabulous village with everything you could need right on your doorstep. The house was a good base from which to explore the Peak District and was more than adequate for us as a couple, but might be quite cramped for six adults.
