Sadly, we can not recommend Springfield Barn. Outside, 2 dustbins near the entrance door have broken jagged lids. The kitchen door is badly weathered and needs repainting as do all of the exterior frames. Inside the Barn we discovered that both of the ovens were dirty/greasy and one had a broken internal door panel. The yellow child s chair had a wRead moreorrying stain on its seat. Most of the drawers in the twin bedroom were broken. Half of the pillows were lumpy and stained as they had no protectors. Hide

Amazing. We would love to come back, our 4 year old Harry was sobbing when we had to leave. Great for kids as you can go over to the farm and see the cows being milked. We found a nice 7km walk to some local waterfalls, finishing at a brewery and another pub on the way home. We hope to visit again (and we rarely go to the same place twice)

This is a lovely cottage, quite secluded on a hill away from the main farm. Great view over Tansley and beyond. Very clean, well-equipped and comfortable. Good location for places such as Bakewell, Matlock, Cromford etc. We would recommend The Gate Inn which is 10 minutes walk down the hill (although a bit longer getting back!).
