Take in sweeping views out across Derbyshire and towards the Peak District from this beautiful stone barn near Tansley. Set in glorious countryside, approximately 1.5 miles from Matlock, the stone property sleeps four guests across two bedrooms and could be perfect for a small family or two couples holidaying together. Light the wood burner; lose yourselves in the views and relax inside or out at this magical barn.

Arrive at this home-from-home and spread out into the inviting, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax on the comfortable seating, while the wood burner crackles close by; switch on the Smart TV to select your evening’s viewing. Prepare meals for your party in the kitchen area, then gather at the table to eat, chat and savour the holiday ambience. At the end of each lively day, climb the stairs to the super-king-size bedrooms, both of which can be arranged as twins if requested in advance. Find the exquisitely decorated bathroom, with walk-in shower and bath, is up here too. Spend as much time as possible outside, immersing yourselves in the scenery and taking in the fresh air. Pack a picnic, lace up your boots and head straight out from home on long walks or cycle rides. Enjoy a 3-mile circular walk, passing through the picture-postcard village of Riber and capturing superb views. Stroll just 1 mile to see the Lumsdale Waterfall. Venture into Matlock for the afternoon to shop for local produce, potter in independent outlets and possibly dine out while you are here. Hop aboard a steam train from Matlock to Rowsley to savour a magical journey through undulating, Derbyshire countryside. Head 3 miles to the spectacular Heights of Abraham to look out across your surroundings from high up on a cable car above the Derwent Valley.

Just loved Springfield Barn, everything you could ask for. So quiet and peaceful and the beds were so comfy. That view from the kitchen and living room windows just amazing.

This Property is a gem!!. We have stayed at many places over the years and we can honestly say this has been the best we have stayed in. The property is beautiful and the views are stunning!!. Location is great and the local pub serves some great food. Lots of places to visit in the local area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

What a beautiful barn, with spectacular views. With a lovely cake and a bottle of milk to enjoy on arrival we couldn't fault a thing while staying here. We loved this cottage. It felt so remote whilst being just 10 mins from Matlock and a few minutes walk to a pub with a childrens play area and great food. The beds were really comfortable and there were plenty of places to sit and enjoy the stunning views over the valley. We absolutely loved our stay at Springfield Barn. Kim and George made us feel welcome, including taking time to show us round the farm and even get involved at milking time! The cottage is beautiful, with fantastic views over the Dales and a great location set up the hill away from the main farm buildings.

High on a hill, the cottage is surrounded by fields and has a glorious view across the valley to Riber Castle. Only the birds to disturb you. We had a brilliant stay at this lovely barn conversion. From the moment we walked in it felt extremely comfortable and welcoming. The barn is in a quiet but very convenient location with stunning distant views. If we return to Derbyshire in the future we would definitely stay there again, and have already recommended it to our friends.

Wow!! This barn conversion is just lovely, the best we have stayed in, and we have stayed in many! It is pristinely clean, the sofa and beds comfortable and the views are to die for. Really quiet and private cottage, very comfortable with a spacious feel and a well thought out layout, especially the bedrooms. Ideally situated for Matlock and surrounding villages, gardens and countryside - you dont have to travel far to find plenty of places to visit and explore.

I stay in many cottages around the UK. This was one that will stand out personally for me. It was simply lovely. A 5 minute drive into Matlock but when in the cottage you feel in the middle of nowhere which is what we wanted. We stayed as a family of 4 (2 small children). Lovely cottage in a beautiful location , Great views over the valley to Matlock . Warm and comfortable and well equipped , we enjoyed our week . Was great to watch the cows in the fields around us and we even saw a very large owl in the copse of trees across the field several days running. Wow! This is by far the best cottage I have ever stayed in. The standard was so high with beautiful furniture, fully equipped kitchen and soft furnishings. The views were outstanding and with the big floor to ceiling windows it just made it perfect. Brilliant place to stay, Kim most welcoming . Plenty of space, comfy beds and pillows and very clean. We devoured the home baked Victoria sponge, fresh orange juice and fresh milk from the farm. The week flew by, boys (14yrs) loved it, wouldnt hesitate to book this barn conversion again.
