A perfect cottage for family and friends, situated in an ideal spot to explore the beauty that surrounds The Peak District National Park. Offering cosy accommodation and plenty to do on your doorstep.

Book a stay at this unusual, three-storey, stone village home at Cromford, approximately 2.5 miles from Matlock, and less than 500m from the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park. Associated with the famous Cromford Mills complex, built by 18th-century industrialist Sir Richard Arkwright, this historic, three-bedroom home sleeps five guests and also welcomes two of their four-legged friends. An ideal base for a family or group of friends who enjoy walking, the lively village is also known for its shops and eateries.

Open the front door to the striking cottage and wander inside to find yourselves in an inviting lounge, with a beamed ceiling and stone fireplace. Light the wood burner, find your favourite programmes on the Smart TV and chat together as you plan the following day’s activities. Make your way through into the kitchen/diner, with its distinctly contemporary finish to prepare holiday treats whenever you fancy eating in. At the end of each busy day, head to the upper floors to lay your head in one of the beautiful bedrooms. On the first floor, there is a twin room, plus a small double and a shower room. The floor above, reached by climbing steep, cottage-style stairs, houses another double bedroom. Parking at this cottage is on the road, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Enjoy staying at the heart of Cromford, parts of which are designated a World Heritage Site for its role in the birth of the Industrial Revolution. Visit Arkright’s Mill; browse at Mason Mills, with its collection of shops; wander round the other independent stores and bookshops in the village. Stroll 1.5 miles along the river to High Peak Junction, where keen walkers can pick up the famous High Peak Trail. Plan a day out to spectacular Chatsworth House, 10 miles from the cottage.

  • 3 Bedrooms – 1 double, 1 small double and 1 twin

Lovely cottage for nearby attractions and towns. Town itself however was a bit too noisy/busy for us - lots of motorbikes. Cottage was clean and tidy and had all we needed, except a washing machine which would have been helpful to have as well as a larger fridge. Small double bed is small & would benefit from replacement - it creaks with absolutelyRead more every movement. Size of that room was adequate though and a larger bed would help! Hand on heart I can say this was one of the nicest cottages Ive stayed in. It did everything you wanted it to, it was cute, modern, comfy, cosy, has mod cons, really clean, and warmed up quickly on a chilly day.
