Old meets new in this spectacular conversion which has been meticulously modernised to provide spacious and bright accommodation fit for 21st-century life. Spend most of your time in the fabulous open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which boasts original stained-glass windows at either end. The kitchen is contemporary and chic with minimalist units and a sociable breakfast bar while the lounge area is cosy and inviting with warm lighting and comfortable sofas. Upstairs, the original church arch faces the two delightful bedrooms, both tucked neatly into the eaves of this historic building.

 

Once famed for its hydro and spa treatments, the bustling town of Matlock boasts an array of shops, restaurants and pubs as well as a weekly market and choice of parks - the perfect base from which to explore the Peak District National Park. When you’re not hiking across Dovedale, walking the Limestone Way or taking on Shivering Mountain, slow down the pace with a visit to the historic Chatsworth House (8 miles) or Haddon Hall (7 miles). Or take to the water with a spot of boat fishing, sailing, kayaking or paddleboarding on Carsington Water, just 8 miles away before browsing picturesque Bakewell (8.5 miles), being sure to sample the town’s famous pudding.

This apartment was stunning. My Sister and I have stayed in many different styles of accommodation and this was definitely one of the best. Parking was a disappointment, especially for arrival and leaving, and the only real negative is its location on the hill.

The place is quite special. The only thing we were missing and which you couldn't guess or see on from the pictures is, that you don't have windows on the upper floor which one can open. So for people who need fresh air through the night this might be tricky. the airing system works well and the skylights provide some daylight but this may not be eRead morenough for some people Hide

Apartment was excellent no real problems other than the door as mentioned. Shame the hill is so steep but it is the Peak District

Incredible property. Great location, the interior is immaculate and so spacious. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms on the top floor, incredible open plan kitchen / lounge area. Pubs & cafes all close by, lovely walks and amazing views from the top of the hill only a few minutes walk away.

Wow what a place. Plenty of space, beautifully restored and everything you could need. We went as 2 couples and with 2 bathrooms it worked, no fighting for the shower ! Bed fabulously comfy. 10 minute walk into town centre (up hill on way back!). Lovely cafes, bars and restaurants.

We loved our stay at the Church Quarters. It's very clean and had everything we needed. Although didn't have onsite parking it wasn't an issue as parking was available on a side road nearby. If we could change one thing it would be the check in and check out time. It wouldve been great if the check in time was 3pm and check out time 10.30/11am as 4Read morepm is pretty late if you want to get in, put your things away, rest a bit and then pop out for food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful accommodation, owners went over and above to make our stay perfect. Location is amazing especially when we got snow. The hill climb can be quite a struggle if unfit but we mastered it in the end. Will definitely return again

Be prepared for a walk up the steep hill, but the views are worth it! The flat is lovely and spacious whilst remaining cosy and relaxing. It had everything we needed for a lovely week with some thoughtful welcoming touches. The owners were extremely helpful in communicating and answering some questions we had. Absolutely recommended.

Church Quarters is an immaculate , well furnished apartment . Everything needed for a self - catering holiday is provided .. The apartment is set off Bank Road but there is no sound of traffic or passers by . This is a place that we hope to return to .

Comfortable and characterful apartment in a quiet location, ample space for 4 grown ups and one 6-month old. Hilltop location affords great views from outside the flat (but no view from inside the flat due to the church windows). Washer/dryer a definite added bonus! The apartment was lovely, clean and had everything we needed and good location and really quiet. I messaged the owner to let them know about an issue with a couple of kitchen items and they rang me straight away to say they would leave then to come replace it. They were really friendly and helpful. Such a beautiful place to stay in. The beds were amazingly comfy and there was plenty of living space too - bedrooms were much larger than expected. Apartment was very neat and tidy, clean and well furnished, with quality modern appliances and TVs. We had a very nice stay for a week in January, and once we had adjusted the heating appropriately it was warm and comfortable. Location is on one of the sides of the valley in Matlock so the walk up from the town centre was quite steep, but that's paRead morert of the location's charm. This place is a real gem. Delightful and unusual property, surprisingly spacious and the large beds in both rooms are amazing! Main room TV also great, especially as we were able to mirror from our tablets and phones. All the facilities you'd want and all high quality. The steep hill is a bit of a drag, but there are a couple of really great bars jRead moreust above the apartment that make the walk up worth it. It is a lovely property that is superbly furnished and feels really homely. Well worth a stay ! Although you cant park outside, we never had any problems finding a space in the roads behind the property.
