Couples or families can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with a break in this gorgeous lodge in the peaceful village of Clifton, Derbyshire. Tucked away on the outskirts of the southern edge of the Peak District National Park, this delightful property is surrounded by picturesque countryside. With its wealth of walking/cycling routes, some of which are alongside the river, its village pub and nine-hole golf course, it’s the ideal place to switch off and relax without much need to travel far. The property also has its own private hot tub to dive into of an evening for some stargazing.

Deceptively spacious, this charming lodge has been styled to emulate the interiors of much grander properties. Bold tones, classic furniture, quirky decor and contemporary twists combine to create a unique feel throughout. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is light and airy and allows you to spend quality time together whether you’re chilling on the sofa, dining at the table or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. On the same floor are the two well-presented bedrooms and the contemporary shower room. There is a lovely outdoor courtyard with a picnic bench for al fresco dining or evening drinks, and tucked around the corner is the private hot tub.

The town of Ashbourne, known as the ‘Gateway to Dovedale’, is only 1.5 miles away with its attractive architecture and cobbled streets bursting with independent shops and eateries. Keen walkers can join the Tissington Trail from here, which heads north to the National Trust’s Dovedale, one of the prettiest dales, whilst further on, it links up with the High Peak Trail. As part of the White Peak, Dovedale follows the River Dove and has impressive limestone hills and ravines for outdoor enthusiasts to explore.

A nice family getaway, the beds were comfortable and the decor was well maintained with high standards of cleanliness. The use of the hot tub was a nice addition and added to the whole experience. The local pub opens at 4pm and the closest shop is 1mile away. Lots of nice places to walk nearby.

Was a lovely little cabin with everything you need and shops only a drive down the road. Only downpoint was website said hot tub to be switched off at half 10 and ended up being half 9. Not very late if you've been out for a day hiking and want to go in there later in the evening.
