This means you’ll be well situated to explore the varying countryside around you. The village is home to millponds that attract abundant wildlife and Cressbrook Dale is popular with rock climbers and those who enjoy woodland walks. The River Wye winds through the Peak District, and there are opportunities for paddleboarding, kayaking and fishing. For pubs, cafes and shops, head to nearby Tideswell (3 miles).
