This cottage is perfect for those wanting a stay in the heart of the Peak District National Park The River Wye meanders through the village which offers some excellent walking routes from the doorstep.

Ideally situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Ashford in the Water, this delightful, traditional and welcoming stone cottage has plenty of charming features including exposed wooden beams, a spiral staircase, a light-filled sunroom and a pretty courtyard garden. Perfect for couples and families, this characterful property makes a lovely base for exploring the Peak District National Park. Offering cosy and relaxing accommodation for four, the cottage is perfect for keen walkers and nature lovers discovering the region’s quaint villages and breathtaking countryside.

Entering this sweet and cosy cottage, the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a wonderfully relaxing main living area. Full of character, the fresh and colourful lounge is perfect for sitting back with a film at the end of a great day. The charming dining area is great for sharing a family meal which you can rustle up in the light and fully equipped kitchen. The ground floor also features a relaxing sunroom, ideal for getting away with a good book. Heading up the spiral staircase, the first floor – which has some restricted head height – features the family bathroom and two comfortable bedrooms: a king-size room overlooking the village green and a charming double. A couple of steps lead up from the sunroom and out into the enclosed courtyard with outdoor furniture making this a pleasant spot for a morning coffee or a glass or two of wine in the evening.

The picturesque village of Ashford in the Water is perfectly placed for exploring the Peak District. The Monsal Trail and the Tissington Trail lead through the area, and the market town of Bakewell (2 miles) has some lovely restaurants, tearooms, shops and pubs. Local attractions and landmarks include Chatsworth House (5.5 miles), Haddon Hall (5 miles) and the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath (11.5 miles).

What a location, idilic village setting, 30 min from all the main walks of the peaks and such a cosy retreat after a long day of walking. Comfy bed and ideal for the four of us, we ate out at the Bulls Head for new year and enjoyed our stay immensely

This is a really nice clean little cottage, only comment would be the in bath shower which is very low. I am 58 and my head was just touching the ceiling whilst standing in the bath for a shower. The head of the shower was about a foot lower than head height so it was quite amusing. This did not cause any issues and gave our party a laugh. Great cottage, centrally located, two hundred yards from the Bulls Head, additional parking available at the adjacent public car park. Very comfortable cottage, well appointed and only a few minutes from Bakewell.

First class location in a really delightful village. Jasmine Cottage was very well presented and was perfect for our weeks visit to the Peak District. Ashford-in-the-Water is just a nice country walk away from Bakewell town with its range of shops. It is also well positioned for many other walks, especially those around the Monsal Trail. We had a lovely week at Jasmine Cottage. The space was great for us two with our cockapoo. We enjoyed the field just outside for doggy toilets at night. The Bulls Head was fab for food and drinks I think we went there every day at some point We walked every day mostly straight from the cottage. Bakewell is a very pleasant walk along the river. We Read morealso walked to Little and Great Longstone and ate in The Packhorse and The Crispin both fab!! We also walked Mam Tor from Castleton. Hide

We had a lovely week's stay at Jasmine Cottage. It was perfect for us on our first holiday with our pooch. They cottage had absolutely everything we needed and was in a beautiful little village only a short walk into Bakewell. I would definitely return.

Despite the fact the cottage is surrounded at the back by other properties it was incredibly quiet. We were a bit concerned about the light coloured carpet, having two dogs but the weather was good with not much rain. The local pub has good food and is less than a 10 minute walk. The neighbours next door, who live in the village are delightful. Jasmine Cottage is in a peaceful location in the pretty village of Ashford in the Water. Good walks from the doorstep and parking for one car is directly outside of the cottage. A warm and cosy cottage in a beautiful village and quiet location. The beds were really comfortable as were the sofas in the lounge. The location of the property is excellent with pub, shop, cafe and plenty of walks from the property or nearby. It was very dog friendly with a big field opposite to walk dog. Needs modernisation in places but the cottage was an extremely warm and cosy and the lounge area comfortable. Kitchen is small but everything provided. What a super cottage! Perfect location to explore. It's very clean and well equipped a real home from home feel. Ashford in the water is postcode pretty and a short walk from Bakewell. Really recommend The Bull for a meal too.

Location is excellent and the cottage is cosy and has everyone anyone needs, however we did not find this cottage to be very dog friendly, especially on a wet day. (cream carpets from front to back). Bathroom is unfortunately very snug on the ceiling height, making it impossible for anyone over the height of 5ft 7" to have a comfortable shower.

Lovely cottage in a gorgeous village. The beds were so comfortable and the cottage was very clean. The village is perfect with a couple of good pubs, a tea room and a shop. Close to Bakewell, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Loads of walking straight from the door. If you are bringing your dog there is a playing field right opposite which was useful.
