Featuring exposed beams and a wood burner in a stone fireplace, the delightful lounge is an ideal space to snuggle in the evenings and watch a movie on the Smart TV. The light and friendly kitchen/diner has a wide range of equipment, with a farmhouse-style dining table providing a perfect spot for sharing a favourite family meal. Upstairs, there’s a stylish bathroom and three cosy and welcoming bedrooms. The bedrooms are made up of one king-size room with exposed beams, a Smart TV and a picture window offering views over the valley, one king-sing-size room which can be made up as a twin on request, and a charming single room ideal for children. The enclosed courtyard garden has plenty of outdoor furniture and a fantastic wood-fired hot tub, offering plenty of space to unwind.

Ideal for exploring the southern stretches of the Peak District, this beautiful barn conversion is just a couple of miles from the lively market town of Matlock, which has plenty of great places to eat and drink. A public footpath leads directly from the farm onto a woodland walk. The area has a wealth of landmarks and attractions including the Heights of Abraham, the National Stone Centre, Gulliver’s Kingdom, Chatsworth House, the Peak District Mining Museum, Lumsdale Waterfall and Magpie Mine (all within 13 miles).

Amazing stay at The Old Carthouse. The property was absolutely stunning, clean, well equipped, the log burner/ hot tub were lovely and amazing views surrounding. Our nervous rescue dogs were extremely comfortable here and we will 100% be returning.

The cottage was very clean and excellently laid out, it had everything you could want in a get away. The wood fired hot tub was a highlight and plenty of beautiful scenery in every direction. I would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at the Old Cart House. Location is excellent - short drive from Matlock and Bakewell yet very peaceful and rural. The house was very clean and well equipped and the owners very approachable and helpful. We had a lovely time at this cottage in August. It was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The courtyard was lovely and completely secure for our dog. We enjoyed going for walks from the property as well as days out further afield. The hot tub was a real bonus, although it took us a bit of practice to get Read morethe temperature right. The Carthouse is set in a beautiful location with stunning views. There is a pretty courtyard with generous seating and the added bonus of a hot tub . Inside has a very homely feel and is well equipped with everything you need while away .

Perfect get away from it all. Terrific views. Cottage well equipped and designed to high spec. Took supplies with us so no need to go anywhere. Dog must be kept downstairs which was disappointing as he small and well behaved. so ended up sleeping downstairs as he nervous rescue baby and panics if left as has abandonment issues. Such a beautiful cottage in a quiet countryside location and only a 5 minute drive from the town of Matlock. A wonderful luxurious base to visit all the lovely attractions nearby. Our dogs adored the secured courtyard garden and hanging out while we were using the hot tub!

Cannot fault the position of this cottage it was picturesque both inside and out due to its stylish but still homely decor. Very much enjoyed the views and local walking in the immediate area around the cottage despite the wet weather. The cottage is beautiful, clean and the owners had even left a box for our dogs with a blanket, treats etc. There was nothing more we could have asked for and will certainly be returning one day! You can access the woodland at the bottom of the farm and its lovely to walk around there. Fabulous setting - lovely walks straight from the door as well as handy for Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth, Buxton, The Monsal Trail etc. Cottage was very homely and had some nice extra touches. What a stunning place. Exceptionally clean, cosy, warm and beautiful location. The owners were lovely and very helpful when we were having issues with the wood burning hot tub. A fantastic little cottage in a lovely area - close to Bakewell, Chatworth and a range of good pubs. The kids enjoyed seeing the cows every morning and the hosts were friendly and happy to give advice about the area. The cottage is well equipped and beds were comfy - we all slept well. Lovely cottage. Absolutely perfect location. Although part of the owners property we did not feel overlooked. The courtyard was wonderful for the dogs, completely escape proof. The hot tub was gorgeous at the end of the day. Definitely recommended.

We had a wonderful stay here (March 2023). The cottage was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed for the week. Loved that there were some blankets, towels bowls etc left for any doggy guests. Lovely cosy cottage, really secure for an escape artist dog. Beds really comfortable it was so quiet-we slept like logs. The cottage is central to many of the attractions in the Peak District and Would certainly return.My only issue would be with holiday cottages, it took 4 attempts to book the property as we wanted to take an additional dog, but tRead morehey were very reluctant to contact the owner regarding this. Very clean, comfortable & characterful house, with lots of thoughtful touches. Fabulous views from most windows and lovely walks without having to use the car. Wish we could have stayed longer! We didnt manage to get the hot tub up to the required temperature (our inexperience) and were disappointed that we couldnt use it.
