Hang coats in the hallway and pad through to the open plan heart of the home then throw open the patio doors to let the balmy breeze drift inside. Flop down onto the sofas and fire on the Smart TV or debrief on the day’s events over an aperitif. Perch at the glossy breakfast bar with a cold drink and watch as the resident chef rustles up a feast, then gather around the gather at the table or head outside and dine in front of a magnificent country backdrop. Retreat upstairs for some well-earned beauty sleep and choose between a spacious en-suite king, an adaptable king/twin, and an airy single. Early risers can enjoy a peaceful morning coffee on the south-facing patio or grab some blankets and stargaze at night.

Follow one of the footpaths leading from your front door or get lost in the quaint cobbled alleyways of Ashbourne and scope out the best local watering hole for a post-adventure pint, 8 miles. Trek through the woodland trail of Osmaston Sawmill beneath the mature oak trees, 7 miles, or load up on history with a visit to the National Trust’s Sudbury Hall, 6 miles.
