Property code: OC-88661

A traditional stone cottage on the outside, this Bakewell property has a luxury, boutique-hotel vibe inside. Fabulously stylish, it’s a great getaway for couples and friends wishing to get out and about in this popular Peak District area.

Daring to be different, this chic cottage is decorated with bold wallpaper, strong colours and quirky lighting – the result is glamorously embracing. The wood burner set in a traditional fireplace is the focal point of the lounge/diner, where there is a smart TV and, at the other end of the room, a dining table and large dresser. The sun room is a gorgeous spot in which to simply relax and do nothing, basking in the warmth, and the Shaker-style kitchen has masses of space in which to concoct delicious meals using local delicacies. A steep staircase leads to the king-size and twin bedrooms, further examples of chic styling and attention to detail, while the huge bathroom contains a free-standing, roll-top bath in which you can soak after an adventurous day out. A slender patio off the sunroom is a lovely spot for an outdoor drink and some fresh Derbyshire air.

Bakewell is much loved for its historic charm, independent shops and great places to eat – while here you must try the iconic Bakewell Pudding. It is also a fabulous base for walking and cycling, with the 8.5 mile, traffic-free Monsal Trail a particular draw. Thrill seekers have the chance to try canoeing, abseiling and caving with Peaks and Paddles Outdoor Adventure Activities (5.5 miles), while Twin Peaks Outdoor Activities offers gorge walking in Beeley (5 miles away) – following the water course up the hill, described as like caving but with the roof off.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size and 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with freestanding bath, separate walk-in shower, and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs provided)
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • No garden but small outdoor courtyard with bistro set to the rear of the property
  • One allocated parking space a short walk away from the property
  • Pubs and shops under 200 metres away

Had a wonderful Christmas in this cottage. It was all we had hoped it would be - and more. First of all the location was perfect, almost on the High Street but tucked away in a quiet spot. The ligths in the sitting room are faulty and keep on flickering. The cooker didn't work the first few days. The telly didn't work. The bed was sagging terribly, needs a new mattress urgently. The sofa was sagging as well and not very clean either. I mentioned everything at the customer service but nobody thought it was worth doing anything about iRead moret. This was an expensive property but very bad value for money. Will surely never go again or book anything through Holliday Cottages. Response from Holiday Cottages - Thank you for your feedback. A very conveniently located cottage and lovely to have private parking. Easy to drop off baggage before parking. Generally well equipped . Note no bedside tables in second bedroom and no wardrobes, just a small hanging rack in main bedroom. Good base to explore the area.

100% recommend this beautiful cottage. It is in an ideal location. A fabulous park opposite, which was a massive plus for our dog! Spotless cottage and everything you need is there! The beds were comfortable. The Welcome Tray was lovely. It was easy to unload the car outside the cottage, before parking in a reserved space very close by. Shops, cafeRead mores and pubs all very close. Would recommend The Red Lion and The Wheatsheaf for meals. Hide

Loved our stay in this beautiful cottage. Very clean with quirky and fabulous interior, loved the sunroom. Very central to Bakewells amenities and lovely walks directly from the door. Designated parking space is a bonus. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We regularly visit the Peak District, and Bakewell is an excellent location as a base to explore. The cottage is an excellent location and we didn't need our car for the first part of our stay. Shops were an easy walk away, and car parking was close-by (there is scope to drop off luggage before driving to the allocated parking space). We absolutely loved it. Great location smack in the middle of it all. The garden was smaller than expected but that was fine for a couple of nights. The cottage is beautiful and the decor is a real wow factor. 5 stars from us.

Absolutely lovely cottage in a fantastic location for walking into Bakewell. Bedrooms are a little on small side but giant bathroom more than makes up for this.
