Venture just 2 miles from the cottage to reach the shores of Carsington Water, with its opportunities for walking, fishing and taking part in water sports. Adventurous visitors can also hire bikes to follow scenic trails. Walk 0.5 miles to cross into the Peak District, with its beautiful landscapes. Head deeper into the national park to climb up to mysterious Minninglow, a neolithic burial site 4.5 miles from the cottage, or to have a day out at Chatsworth House, 15.5 miles away.
