Stay in this charming cottage just outside the vibrant market town of Longnor, on a peaceful private lane. Embracing the true spirit of adventure, this cottage, full of character, is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is located below the top of a ridge between the Dove and Manifold valleys, providing an excellent starting point for many easy rambles or more serious upland hikes. For keen cyclists looking to explore the countryside on two wheels, bicycles (pedal and electric) can be hired locally at various points along the Tissington, High Peak and Manifold Trails. Families or friends looking for an active or adventurous holiday will find this property the perfect base.

Step into this spacious two-storey property, and you will find a kitchen area with all the appliances you could need for rustling up tasty meals. The snug lounge is the heart of the home, where you can enjoy an open fire and watch a movie on the Smart TV. Alternatively, unwind in the bright conservatory, lie back on the chaise longue, and take in tranquillity. Upstairs are three bright bedrooms, two doubles, one small double and a family bathroom. Sit outside on the wooden loveseat, enjoy the raised lawn area, and admire the views of nature all around.

For visitors of all ages, there are plenty of adventurous destinations. Imagine descending underground to discover Poole’s Cavern (7 miles); roam the woods rich in wildlife and birdlife and head up Grin Hill to find Solomon’s Temple. Explore Peak District villages, such as Taddington (8 miles), Eyam (15 miles) and Tideswell (10 miles). From May to September, many villages celebrate Well Dressing - a tradition unique to the Peak District. For a day of adventure on foot or on two wheels, Castleton (17 miles) in the Hope Valley is the starting point for a range of spectacular trails for all abilities, many centred around Mam Tor and Edale.

Longnor is a great location with good shop and pub in the village and various cafes (although not open in winter). This cottage is in a quiet side road and is spacious and comfortable so a good base for walks and exloring.

This is a really comfortable cottage with plenty of space - and very comfortable beds. The village is very quiet and very convenient for Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock etc. We enjoyed our stay a lot.
