Spend time in this lovely property in Winster, a charming village close to Matlock (5 miles away). In Matlock, admire the dramatic limestone scenery, stroll along Lover's Walk and scale the Heights of Abraham before returning to your charming cottage. Winster, hidden in the limestone hills, is a historic village with more than 70 listed buildings, quaint cottages and impressive traditional stone buildings. Couples staying here can embark on walks or hikes, including the famous Limestone Way, which passes close by or the scenic trail at Stanton Moor (3 miles).

Walk into this elegant and stylish two-storey cottage, and you will find it has a reverse-level layout. Downstairs are two beautifully appointed bedrooms and a contemporary bathroom. Head upstairs and see striking exposed beams, a wood burner in the living room, and windows overlooking the attractive tree-lined patio area. The plush sofa is perfect to snuggle on while watching a favourite film on the Smart TV. Sit in the bistro-style dining area within the kitchen to enjoy your morning coffee and welcome the day with views of a street lined with pretty cottages. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up delicious meals. Head outside to the patio with outdoor seats, relax with your morning coffee and take in the peace and quiet.

Experience some of the Peak District's fabulous limestone Dales on a cycle or walk along the Monsal Trail, which starts in Bakewell (6.5 miles). Or why not visit one of the historic houses, with Haddon Hall less than 10 miles away and offering plenty of magnificent gardens and grounds to explore? A disappointing stay where improvements could have been made to maintain the property better. It had damp condensation at the windows and a neglected outside space. We did not stay for the full duration of our holiday and received an unsatisfactory response to our complaint both from the owner and letting agent.

Downstairs rooms were small and lacked ventilation making them feel musty. Upstairs living room and kitchen were great.
