Stay amid gorgeous rolling hills in this charming property that dates back to the 1880s and was originally the milk bottling shed for the local farm. Now lovingly restored, the property is in the perfect location to explore Crich and beyond. There are walks from your doorstep to Culland Wood, or head 6.5 miles to Black Rock, popular with walkers and climbers and offering some breathtaking walking circuits before returning to your lovely cottage where couples can enjoy a relaxing evening.

Step into the lounge, where you’ll find elegant handmade furniture and a comfortable sitting space where you can enjoy the wood burner on chillier nights. Loving touches show the care taken to create this beautiful rural bolthole for two. The kitchen leads off from the living area and has all the appliances you need to rustle up a romantic meal that can be enjoyed inside or out. The double bedroom enjoys views of the surrounding fields in this peaceful location. From the dining area, there is a step to reach the outside, where you’ll find an enclosed courtyard with furniture and a BBQ. Here, you can relax and unwind with your morning brew or dine alfresco on fine evenings.

Matlock Bath sits just a little over 8 miles away. Here you can take the Lover’s Walk, cable cars up to the Heights of Abraham or the circular walk to High Tor and Riber. Head into the Dales and visit the ever-popular Dales town of Bakewell (18 miles), where you can choose between a hike into the Dales or a walk or cycle along the traffic-free Monsal Trail. Shipley Country Park (9 miles) has something for everyone, regardless of the season. The cottage was perfect and every detail had obviously been well thought out. From the tiny wooden mice hidden in nooks the really comfy bed. I have never had such a good nights sleep away from home. It was the perfect location for travelling into nearby towns and villages. We did have to look around for places to eat which were dog friendly, not sRead moreure if this was because we went out of season but we found some really nice places. Would definately go again Hide

Lovely bolt hole for two (and 2 dogs). Very lovingly decorated. The village pub was nice enough and lots of places to get food and drink in the next village, Crich, or Belper, or further out at Matlock Bath. Lots to do and the leaflets in the cottage were helpful. Definitely be recommending Bottle Barn.

Lovely place to relax and within a short journey from main villages for sightseeing, well worth a stay here.

I would definitely recommend to stay at Bottle Barn. The pictures dont do it justice. The cottage is decorated to a high spec with lovely finishing touches. It was clean and comfy for our 3 night stay. It is situated in a lovely area and not far from other nice towns we visited. The only disappointment was the weather!
