Just kissing the edge of the Peak District, this is the perfect location for that countryside retreat, whilst having some of the best attractions on your doorstep. The steppingstones of Dovedale on the river Dove with its stunning views of Thorpe Cloud is just under 6 miles away, close by is the reservoir Carsington Water (11 miles), perfect for birdwatching, water sports, walking and cycling around its eight-mile perimeter. Visit the Tissington, High Peak and Manifold trails (4 miles, 14 miles and 7 miles respectively), Chatsworth House Gardens (24 miles) and the historic town of Bakewell (22 miles). For a fun-filled day, head to Alton Towers theme park (7 miles). Or the Little Switzerland of the Peaks Matlock Bath offers a vibrant exploration by the River Derwent (16 miles).
