Set in an idyllic farm location, this beautiful old stone cottage is a dream for fans of the great outdoors with a whole host of adventures to be had from the doorstep. Hire a bike and take a scenic ride along the 8-mile stretch of disused railway line transformed into the Monsal Trail, just over a mile away. This exciting route cuts through the stunning landscape and has tunnels and bridges, cliffs and dales along the way. Explore the peaceful hilly scenery with sheep grazing the green fields around Taddington on the long walking route that loops all the way around the village and beyond. Chatsworth House is a 10-mile drive away and has stunning Capability Brown-designed landscaped gardens and grounds as well as an impressive art and sculpture collection in the majestic stately home. The grand spa town of Buxton is 7 miles away and offers plenty of lovely dining and shopping options.

The welcoming stone cottage has ample space for relaxation in the lounge with its huge stone fireplace housing a wood burner, light and bright furnishings and comfy sofas and armchairs. The superb, colourful kitchen is a great size and has a lovely cottage farm feel with its exposed beams, barn door and tiled flooring. There is also a small dining table and chairs. Upstairs, a high, beamed ceiling gives the double bedroom a fantastic light and airy feel while the comfy bed promises a wonderful night’s sleep. A beautiful, exposed stone wall is a wonderful reminder of the lovely cottage’s history. The spacious bathroom with more high beamed ceilings, terrazzo tiling, and a lovely wooden cottage door completes the property’s layout.

Step outside the home into a lovely, enclosed outside area with views over the rolling green fields. Soak up the sun in this charming, sheltered spot - ideal for dining alfresco any time of day.

A cosy cottage in a good location for the village pub, and for local walking and cycling routes such as the Monsal Trail.

John and Joy were the most wonderful people to host holiday accommodation. The cottage was perfect with everything you needed and immaculately clean and ready to use, unlike many properties available. Location was great. Sheep at the bottom of the garden were a bonus. Plenty of parking space. Overall a great place to stay with wonderful hosts.

Hosts were wonderful. Many delightful touches : welcome tray, cut flowers, Bath candles etc. Warm, cosy well equipt cottage. Messages from OC were useful, but a little intrusive ( advised to call owners on a Sunday?) Reminded of checkout time etc. Useful, but repeating information already sent.

The Croft Cottage was perfect and exactly as described. We had a relaxing comfortable holiday in the full knowledge that the owners were only a stones throw away if we needed them. We could not speak highly enough of them or the property and its location.
