Nice short stay in this cosy cottage. The footpath down to the river runs directly in front of the house, and the river downstream and especially upstream is beautiful. We saw a dipper which was a bonus. You can't hear anything from the cottage other than the river and birds. The village is a good hub to explore the Peak District from, with 3 pubs Read morethat we found, and a nice coffee shop in the YHA, bakery and post office/shop. Very steep path down to the cottage which wasn't a problem for us but may be worth bearing in mind if there are any mobility issues. The wood burner was a bonus and warmed the dining room area up quickly. Hide

There is a step path to the property which was not a problem for us, bit would have been nice to know in advance as we would have packed differently. The property was clean, but there was a bit of a doggy smell in the dining room. We weren't expecting a dishwasher, but they do make a difference to a family holiday. We had a wonderful time and the pRead moreroperty is in a beautiful location and well looked after. Thanks Hide

Property was hard to find, a little more information/reminders of this could have been provided - there were lots of notifications but most seemed to be emphasizing to leave on time rather than much note on finding the property. I believe departure instructions were also just in a book at the house but could have been linked to in the notifications
