The attractive, stone barn conversion adjoins the owner’s farmhouse. The property is full of charm, with exposed beams, flagstone flooring, and pretty, floral fabrics. The main living space is a bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with large windows framing far-reaching rural views. At one end is a farmhouse-style kitchen area where you can create delicious dinners for two, which you can share at the wooden dining table. After dinner, get cosy on the leather sofa next to the flame-effect electric fire to read a book or watch TV. From here, an open staircase leads to the king-size bedroom, which boasts fabulous wooden trusses, exposed stonework, and countryside views. There’s also a sofa, providing a quiet reading nook under the window. A gorgeous en-suite bathroom rounds off this rural retreat. Outside, share breakfast on the patio before heading out for a day of adventure. Private parking is available at the property.
Taddington is one of England’s highest villages and is surrounded by wild and windswept moorland, making it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Several popular walking trails pass through the village, including the long-distance Limestone Way. After an exhilarating hike, refuel in the friendly village pub. The historic market town of Bakewell makes a lovely day out. Pick up local produce at one of the open-air markets, stroll along the pretty riverbanks, and sample the delicious Bakewell pudding in one of the cute tearooms.
