Situated in a rural hamlet in North East Derbyshire, this family-friendly abode sleeps six and is in an ideal location for discovering history, heritage and local fare. Lace up your walking boots and set out to explore the Dukeries of Nottinghamshire (20 miles) and the Peak District National Park (9 miles). Chesterfield 5.5 miles away is a vibrant hub of entertainment, restaurants and shops yet steeped in old-world charm with its famous crooked spire church and cobbled market square. Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle are all within a 14-mile drive, and you can delve further into the Peak District and admire the views from the vantage point of the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath. Also home to a tramway museum and within 15.5 miles of the Peak Railway, you’ll find plenty of attractions to suit your entire party.

Cosy and welcoming yet spacious throughout, this quiet haven is set across a single level and has been carefully furnished with comfort in mind. Gather your loved ones in the lounge with snacks and hot drinks, ready to enjoy your favourite TV shows or watch a family favourite on the DVD player. The kitchen/diner also has comfortable seating for unwinding with a good book, and the table has ample space for everyone at mealtimes. Rustle up hearty breakfasts and extravagant suppers in the kitchen, using the array of kitchen equipment on offer, perhaps dining alfresco on sunny afternoons. All three bedrooms are a treat for recharging your batteries, and there is a handy shower room too.

Boasting fabulous views across the countryside, the garden consists of a large patio with garden furniture and a vast expanse of lawn that’s ideal for garden games. You’ll also have access to a field - the 'croft' - and a wild orchard, ideal for adventures.

Lovely, quiet location with such beautiful views across the fields and countryside. The scenery of the Peak District is stunning. The lovely woods near the cottage are worth visiting. But the most special thing were the badgers visiting the garden several times!

We have had a fantastic week here. We love the bungalow, so peaceful it just feels like home. It is great having the woods nearby, enjoyed the morning walks with the dog. Visited Bakewell. Dovedale, Matlock and Castleton - all lovely. Looked out in the early hours one morning and saw a badger in the garden.
