Kirk Ireton is a small, unspoilt Derbyshire village with a friendly pub and a well-stocked village shop. There are some fabulous walks to explore in and around the village, including to nearby Carsington Water (1.5 miles). Here, you can try out a whole host of water sports, including canoeing and windsurfing. There are also some excellent, traffic-free walking and cycling trails around the reservoir. The pretty market town of Wirksworth is 2.5 miles away and has a great range of independent shops, along with attractions such as the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway.
