We arrived very late at the cottage (22:30) and the owners had prepared the property very welcoming. There were flowers, wine, eggs and dog treats - Thank you The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. The rooms are arranged over four levels! I personally wished I had checked the location better. We live close to the M20 and depending on tRead morehe weather it is either very quiet or very noisy from the traffic. We found the same at the cottage with the close proximity of the A6. We found the matress very uncomfortable and therefore didn't sleep very well. The pictures are very misleading. The outdoor area is all shared between the tree cottages. If they are all full there will be cars parked right outside Kestrel Cottage. The area was quite nice. Great view from the top of Eccles Pike. We had a lovely walk to Waley Bridge and back along the canal. We loved the Little Mill Pub at Rowarth which has lovely walks. We were very unfortunate with the weather, but the cottage was warm and comfortable, although a little dark. Overall, we wouldn't return - mainly because of the closeness to the A6 (see above) Hide

This was by far the most fantastic cottage we have ever stayed in! Everything had been carefully thought out by the owner. The welcome gift of fresh eggs, wine and flowers was so lovely. The property had everything that you would need I would imagine it would be a bit small for four adults though but so good that they now allow up to three dogs as it was just me and my daughter plus three dogs we found it was perfect will be booking again for next year

Lovely quiet cottage with lovely gardens. Well equipped kitchen and big bathroom. Would suggest bins in the bedrooms. Great walks for dogs within a couple of minutes walk. If you're bringing dogs please note there are no private gardens for each cottage and the gate to the road is left open .

Great place to stay. Both accommodation and location. All 4 of us loved our holiday. One point I think would be of help. Wall mounted toilet roll holders should be fitted to both bathroom and separate toilet. The existing fitments are for storage and not for dispensing. The toilet paper on these devices can end up on the floor. Not good.
