Set in the pretty village of Tideswell, this characterful stone cottage has tonnes of traditional features and is set up for a family of four. Spend days exploring the rolling hills of the Peak District before relaxing at this retreat in front of the warming wood burner or in the pleasant garden.
Head inside this limestone cottage and immediately find yourself in the fabulous lounge. Exposed beams on the ceiling and a warming wood burner set in an ornamental fireplace make this a cosy space for some respite. Watch films or shows on the TV in the evenings as you curl up on the sofas. The wooden beams continue in the stylish shaker-style kitchen, where you will find everything you need to cook up delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sit around the table in the light and airy dining room to eat together and plan the holiday days ahead. Upstairs is a sumptuous double bedroom alongside a bunk bedroom which is ideal for the children of the group. Completing the interior is a bathroom with a shower over the bath. At the rear of the property is a charming garden. Enclosed by stone walls and accessed via a few steep steps, there is a decked area with patio furniture, a lovely spot for al fresco dining and stargazing. There is parking available on the road outside the property.
Within the village, you will find some pubs and eateries, as well as a couple of handy shops so you can pick up essentials. Pack a picnic and spend a day at Tideswell Dale Nature Reserve (4 miles) which is home to an interesting sculpture trail and home to a wide variety of wildlife. Take a long walk or cycle along the popular traffic-free Monsal Trail (2 miles) which runs through limestone ravines and alongside the river.
