Providing fantastic holiday accommodation for families and friends, this stunning cottage in the spacious grounds of the owners' home makes a tranquil retreat for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists seeking a relaxing getaway in a beautiful part of the Derbyshire Dales, close to the outskirts of the Peak District National Park. The historic village of Darley Bridge makes a great base for scenic woodland walks along the River Derwent, with local activities including archery and river rafting, and charming traditional local inns and restaurants to visit. Local attractions include the Heights of Abraham, Gulliver’s Kingdom, Cromford Mills and Crich Tramway Village, all within 9 miles. Heading into the Peak District, you can visit the picturesque town of Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Magpie Mine, all within 10 miles.

This delightful house features a beautifully furnished lounge with a beamed ceiling. If TV is not suitably sociable you can have fun with the karaoke machine! There’s a stylishly designed kitchen/diner with a ceiling beam, a large central island, bespoke units, granite work surfaces and an airy dining area. The property offers four spacious and soothingly decorated bedrooms. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor: a king size bedroom with an en suite shower room and a twin (2'6" beds, can be made up as king size on request) adjacent to the refreshing family bathroom. A pretty single bedroom also has an en suite shower room. Stairs lead up from the lounge to a spacious king size bedroom with its own en suite with a lovely double slipper bath and walk-in shower.

Stepping outside, the sweet garden features a bright patio and raised decked area with a choice of outdoor furniture overlooking the surrounding woodlands and countryside, providing a fantastic spot for a barbecue or a glass of wine in the evening.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and in a fantastic position for exploring Derbyshire. Really lovely cottage. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the property. The owners - James and Jane - were very friendly and welcomed us with chocolates and a bottle of bubbly. Kitchens and bathrooms were spotless - and beds and sofas were comfy. Great quiet location. Nice local pub at end of road - and easy access to Chatsworth HouRead morese and Bakewell. We had a really lovely week away. The house was lovely. Very clean and tidy with en-suites to all bedrooms. Comfortable living room and the kitchen had all the equipment needed. We had a problem with one of the showers which was fixed within 24 hours of reporting it. The only downside for us was we found the kitchen table and benches a little uRead morencomfortable and needed to use the outside furniture cushions on the benches to make it a little more useable. The property is well located in a quiet village with 2 excellent pubs but also only a short drive to local towns and visitor attractions. The house is well furnished and equipped for all possible needs. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and overall this is a great place to stay.

The property was in a great setting, pretty front garden, patio to the side with seating. The property was very clean and comfortable with a great sitting room, large kitchen/diner and decent sized bedrooms. Steps down into the property and two bedrooms meant this was maybe not the place for those with mobility issues. Huge bathroom and three en suRead moreites so plenty for everyone. Great cottage although description on website could have been better i.e. it was not clear from the website what facilities were included (it just referred to what a 3, 4 or 5 star property would have in stock and not specific to that property)

Property great, owners lovely. However this is the second time Ive used DCC now and the 5pm check in and 9.30am check out is quite unreasonable. Were not in Covid any more and having to get out of a property by 9.30 on a Sunday morning just ruins the weekend a bit to be honest. Excellent quality cottage / house at rear of converted former farmhouse, with a pretty, small front garden and side terrace overlooking woods and the owners' lovely landscaped gardens. The house is very well equipped, especially the large kitchen, and all is very comfortable, with three ensuite bedrooms plus a separate bathroom. The owners were helRead morepful, informative and discrete: the detailed information booklet might be a model for others. Darley Bridge village is a pretty part of Darley Vale, based around the Derwent riverside. Shops and attractions, such as walks and the Whitworth Park with play areas, are easily reachable by foot or car. Sadly the nearby village pubs were friendly but not good for food: we found the bar/restaurant at Barrington's Hotel was the best bet and the fish & chip shop was good too, but maybe better food is a drive away. We were mostly happy to make use of the house kitchen and eat in. All in all a good calm place for a gathering of family or friends. We had a toddler there who had lots of fun, but maybe worth noting the house is more ideally set up for adults. Hide

Wonderful week and really lovely house. Perfect situation for exploring this very beautiful part of the country. We had a great day via train to Matlock Bath and then cable car to the Heights of Abraham. Have visited Chatsworth, Bakewell and Buxton. Cottage was well equipped if not over equipped. However we found it rather cold on occasion and we had to change the temperature controls every evening. I also found the beds uncomfortable as they were very hard

The welcome we received on arrival set the tone for a wonderful week in this beautifully appointed home that proved a splendid centre for our first return to the Peak District in many decades.
