Property code: OC-DCWYN

Timeless Tideswell is in the heart of the White Peak and is home to a selection of independent shops, pubs, cafes and – built entirely in the 14th century – a magnificent church known as the Cathedral of the Peak. Walks lead from the village onto some of the most beautiful limestone uplands in the area, including the Nature Reserve of Tideswell Dale which is part of the Wye Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest. For exploration further afield, drive 5 miles east to the poignant ‘plague village’ of Eyam, or 10 miles to the grandeur of Chatsworth House – from there it’s another 5 miles to Bakewell, the birthplace of the famous pudding. Victorian Buxton with its wonderfully restored Opera House and immaculate Pavilion Gardens is just 7.5 miles away, too.

Located up a couple of steps on a quiet lane in picturesque Tideswell, this pretty cottage is decorated and furnished to a superb standard, with a ground-floor cloakroom and well-equipped kitchen/diner assuring guests of all the convenience and comfort of home. The exposed beams and country styling continue in the spacious lounge, where there are sofas, a wood burner and Smart TV for relaxing nights in. A two-bedroom, two-bathroom layout on the first floor makes this an ideal cottage choice for two couples or a small group of friends. In the first bedroom, there’s a substantial king-size bed and en-suite shower room, in the second there’s a double bed and, close by, a family bathroom.

A private patio to the side of the property provides somewhere to enjoy fresh air, food and drinks – perfect after a busy day of sightseeing.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 double

We enjoyed our stay at Wynn cottage, the cottage was clean, well equipped and had lots of character. The bed was comfortable however we found the sofas uncomfortable especially by the end of the holiday. We felt we just couldnt get comfortable on them. The Village is lovely and would definitely stay there again, plenty of places to eat or go forRead more a drink. And we loved hearing the church bells from the cottage. Parking was never an issue. There was one occasion we couldnt park next to the cottage, but we soon found a spot down the lane. On one of the days we got a Bus to Buxton, which was very straight forward and easy to do. Overall we had a great stay! Great cottage in a great location! Hide

We had a lovely week in this comfortable, homely cottage. We found it very clean and well equipped. Location wise we walked from the cottage door everyday or used the brilliant local bus service. Couldn't fault our stay even with the snow!

Lovely cottage in a lovely village. We were two adults, a 15 year old and a dog and the size was perfect. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend

Delightful cottage, well equipped.Stunning location and well appointed for touring the Derbyshire Dales.Extremely good owner of the property.Might be useful to point out the very deep steps from the kitchen to the downstairs cloakroom and rear entrance, otherwise no issues.A wonderful holiday and would love to return. Tideswell is a beautiful villagRead moree with lovely pubs, however lacked coffee and cake type establishments ,the Butcher didnt open until Wednesday and closed by 1pm and the Bakery also closed at a similar time, we were disappointed and felt whilst there must be economic reasons for these reduced opening times they were perhaps missing out on business ,certainly by us. This property ticked all the boxes. Warm and cosy, very clean, local fresh flowers/foliage were on the kitchen window which was a lovely touch. Well equipped kitchen, lovely hot shower which was great after a day of walking. Right next to the village which was great for us as we like to eat out too. Parking was not an issue either and we got parkinRead moreg beside the cottage each day. And best of all was it was a lovely quiet street. Hide

The cottage was beautiful. Only issues were that the DVD player didnt work, and the shower upstairs wasnt clean enough - the plug was blocked and kept filling up, which meant it smelled. Everything else was great.

Slight disappointment that there were 2 (not 3 as stated) WCs. Otherwise, really happy with property & facilities.

As discussed on the telephone, there is no "welcome pack" at the cottage and this needs amending on your website

It was a lovely, cosy and well-equipped cottage in a fantastic location close by to local amenities and within driving distance of many local attractions. The information on the website stated that there was a highchair and travel cot but when arriving at the cottage, we could not find either. Upon calling the owner and then the Derbyshire CountrRead morey Cottages phone number, a highchair and travel cot was delivered to the cottage within a couple of hours. We were very grateful but it was a stressful and avoidable start to our stay. Netflix was very temperamental on the TV. It often freeze or logged out unexpectantly. The gate was hard to open as it needs balancing. The recycling was already full and therefore, we struggled to dispose of recycling appropriately. The lane is very narrow and difficult to drive down when there are cars parked in certain places. This needs to be emphasised more on the website as some people in bigger cars and / or less confident drivers would struggle. The kitchen was very well equipped. It was great to have a cupboard stocked with oils, herbs, spices, etc. Hide

Your property description indicates the keysafe is by the front door - it isn't, it's by the side door. No mention of low beams in description....I'm 6'4", I ducked but I'm still grousing. Similarly for step steps into kitchen.... As for 'roadside parking' - it is roadside but not necessarilly near the cottage. Otherwise it was great!
