A magnificent historic property situated in true Peak District splendour, this spacious holiday home sleeps ten and has everything you need for a truly special stay. Situated in the village of Elton, you’ll be in a prime position for exploring Cratcliffe Rocks, venturing into Gratton Dale to marvel at the inspiring views and peaceful surroundings. Matlock Bath is 7 miles away with its interesting lead mining museum, Heights of Abraham cable cars and Little Switzerland Gorge, or why not venture into Bakewell 7 miles away to explore the charming streets and sample the famous pudding? For those who can’t resist a bit of adrenaline, Carsington Water is 10 miles away and a hub for water sports.

This grand period property has been a family home for generations and features antique furniture that blends seamlessly with the beamed ceilings, stone-flagged floors and oak panelling. Light the wood burner and sink into the deep sofas with a glass of wine, getting ready to watch Sky TV or play board games, or move through to the spacious hall and appreciate the open fire in here. The kitchen is a haven for foodies, providing ample worktop space and appliances for preparing a feast for your entire party, best enjoyed in the formal dining room by candlelight. Upstairs, the bedrooms continue with the traditional theme, each featuring substantial oak antique furniture that is in keeping with the style of the property. Two bedrooms have an additional single bed, making them excellent choices for families, one of which has a fabulous four-poster bed and the other a 4’ double bed; there is a third bedroom with king-size bed and the main double bedroom, with half-tester bed, includes an en-suite shower room hidden behind the oak panelling. Before retiring to bed you’ll be unable to resist a long soak in a roll-top bath or an invigorating shower, choosing from either the downstairs or first-floor bathroom.
