Set within a former barn surrounded by miles of open Derbyshire countryside, this charming first-floor retreat offers a peaceful escape perfect for couples and families who love nothing better than exploring the great outdoors.

At the heart of this home-from-home, the open-plan lounge/diner is flooded with natural sunlight from the gorgeous skylight windows that frame sublime views across the surrounding hillsides. The soothing, neutral hues perfectly blend into the colours of the unspoilt scenery, immersing guests into the beauty of the natural world, with the charming sloping ceiling echoing the rich history of the original barn. Sleek and stylish, the contemporary kitchen will inspire you to whip up something delicious with your local produce. Featuring exposed beams and wonderful views to wake up to, the king-size bedroom, with its own en-suite bathroom, and the twin room, provide a haven of calm to retire to. A well-appointed family shower room completes the interior. From sunrise to sunset, the shared orchard and gardens offer pure tranquillity in the serenity of nature; make the most of your views by dining alfresco long into the evening. Ample off-street, private parking is also available.

At the head of beautiful Lathkill Dale, surrounded by stunning Derbyshire scenery, the historic limestone village of Monyash is centred around a picturesque green, home to a thriving community spirit and a charming village shop, pub and cafe. Keen walkers can join the spectacular Limestone Way which passes through the village to journey through the beautiful White Peak landscape of the Peak District National Park. Uncover some rich local history at Magpie Mine (3.5 miles), the atmospheric and well-preserved remains of a disused lead mine or pick up some local produce from the biggest market town in the Peak District, Bakewell (5.5 miles away).

Well appointed, clean cottage with comfortable beds, in a good location for walking and decent pubs for food nearby. Hospitable hosts on site and good private off road parking. Outside space would be nice in summer but we visited in winter and found the need for extra blankets/hot water bottles to be really comfortable if reading /TV. All applianceRead mores worked including Wifi/phone signal/heating/showers etc. A welcome pack of essential local produce and fresh floral table decoration was a thoughtful touch, much appreciated. Really lovely peaceful and comfortable accommodation in a fabulous location. It was perfect for us as a couple doing outdoor things - including cycling - where a very handy (or essential) bike store was provided.

We had a good stay despite rather mixed weather. The accommodation is mostly very comfortable and well appointed, but the bathrooms are rather dated and the headroom in the showers is limited - OK for us, but might not suit a tall person. The owners live at their B&B next door and were very helpful and welcoming. There are plenty of walks on thRead moree doorstep and nearby, with maps provided, The EV charging point is at the rear of the barn and easy to use. Hide
