An attractive, first-floor apartment, set within a former barn at Monyash, in the Peak District, this appealing holiday retreat is perfect for a small family or two couples together. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom property is in an idyllic setting for anyone wishing to explore their picturesque surroundings on foot or by bicycle. Head out to see Magpie Mine, the atmospheric and well-preserved remains of a disused lead mine, 1.5 miles away, or Lathkill Dale, 2 miles away, which is known for its beautiful scenery. Make a trip into Bakewell, 5 miles away, to wander its pretty streets and pause for a helping of its famous pudding. Also head into Buxton, 8 miles away, to browse in its many shops.

Make your way up the internal staircase to the first floor of the barn and enter to find a bright, airy lounge/diner with a modern feel. Settle in here together after your busy days out, watching the Smart TV, listening to music or just chatting. The kitchen is compact but has been equipped with everything you need to whip up delicious feasts with your own ingredients, and there is a dining area where you can enjoy meals together. Great property in a lovely location with easy access to all of the dales. Hosts very friendly and welcoming - the welcoming pack was outstanding (especially the homemade marmalade). Good off-road parking and very peaceful with a lovely garden to relax in. Pub around the corner provided good quality food well above the normal pub standard.

Plenty of space and light . Helpful, friendly owners on site. Wealth of tourist information leaflets and guide books and maps. Lovely welcome with homemade rolls, cake and marmalade, and eggs from the owners hens. Very well fitted out and excellent decoration. Very well kept garden and excellent location for visiting this area of Derbyshire.

Sheldon Barn was everything we hoped for after seeing the photos and description of the property. It was extremely comfortable for us as two couples with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and the home made welcome pack of bread, delicious jam and cakes along with the tea, coffee, sugar and milk was very welcome aRead morend enjoyable. The lockable bike storage shed was important to us to keep our 4 e-bikes secure. The location is perfect to access the main cycle routes in this part of the Peak District and the helpful owners were on hand to make route suggestions if required although never intrusive. Sheldon Barn and the owners gave us a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely recommend. We were even blessed with dry and warm weather. Hide

The property was well located in an attractive village, was well-designed in that it provided good views of the surrounding area, and was very comfortable - with all the equipment you would expect in a modern home. The owners (Caroline and Mike) made us very welcome, and were also very helpful in providing local information such as good places to eRead moreat and where to find supermarkets. Hide
