Offering a tranquil escape for up to four guests, this enchanting property makes a great base for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers discovering a spellbinding part of the Peak District. The property is set in a valley, in a group of four cottages but this one is quite privately situated behind the others. There are miles of walks, with the High Peak Trail passing by the top of the field. The delightful village of Brassington is 2 miles away, with a choice of great pubs. Carsington Water Visitor Centre is 4 miles south, making a great base for a range of activities around the reservoir including birdwatching, bike trails and a choice of water sports. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Crich Tramway Village, The National Stone Centre and The Heights of Abraham are all within 15 miles.

On entering this lovely, light-filled retreat, the main open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is lined with floor-to-ceiling picture windows offering beautiful views of the surrounding fields. The stylish lounge features a Smart TV, eco-friendly wood burner and a dining table by the window, while the spacious and airy kitchen has a range of hardwood surfaces, bespoke units, flagstone flooring and a breakfast bar. The ground floor also features a characterful bedroom with an en-suite shower room and French doors opening out onto the patio. A few steps lead upstairs, where you will find the second bedroom with a charming super-king-size bed, exposed timber ceiling beams and an en-suite shower room.

Outside, you can relax in the lovely patio area which has a choice of garden furniture and views of the surrounding fields.

Beautiful home, ideally located and very well equipped. We stayed 3 nights and felt so at home we spent two of them in the cottage. Would highly recommend and stay again. I should also mention it was spotlessly clean.

So impressed with Griffedale. Beautifully furnished. What more could we want from a fabulous holiday. Loved the cows at the window and Angus the Cat. Very sorry to have to leave and return to reality.
