An enticing, stone retreat, this gem of a Derbyshire holiday property nestles in the peaceful surroundings of Aldwark, 9.5 miles from Bakewell. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom hideaway makes an idyllic base from which to explore the scenic southern reaches of the Peak District. Pick up the traffic-free High Peaks Trail, which runs for 17.5 miles, just 1 mile from the cottage and follow it through stunning Derbyshire scenery. Spend time at Carsington Water, 5 miles away, where you can fish, hire bikes and try water sports. Head into Wirksworth, 5.5 miles away, to potter in colourful shops, dine out in a pub or café and see the famous StarDisc black granite sculpture, which maps the northern hemisphere’s night sky.

Make your way into the cottage to discover a warm welcome in beautifully renovated accommodation, which still features gorgeous stone floors and original timber beams. At the heart of the holiday home is the comfortable lounge, where ample seating has been arranged so you can bask in the warming glow of the wood burner as you enjoy the Smart TV. The spacious kitchen/diner, with its sage green units, has a farmhouse style and has been carefully equipped to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. There is also a WC downstairs and a sunny conservatory, where you can sit and relax with your book for a while. Also at ground-floor level is an inviting bedroom with zip and link beds (super king size or twin) with large en suite shower room. Upstairs, there is a king size and a double bedroom, one with an en suite bath/shower room and the other with an en suite shower room.

The beautiful garden here is the perfect place to soak up both the serenity and the scenery. Dine outside at the table and have a cocktail as the sun goes down. There is external access to the games room, with table tennis table and bike storage space, as well as to a utility/boot room, with washing machine and storage for outdoor gear.

We really enjoyed our stay. It is a very comfortable cottage in a great location for exploring the southern Peak District. All 3 bedrooms were equally impressive and each with a great bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the outside space was lovely for sitting out and for the dog to explore. A hosepipe for the outside tap wouldRead more be the icing on the cake as our dog had a great time but was constantly muddy! Also please can you resolve check out time as the cleaner turned up at 9:30 when we were told 10:00am check out. However, this is a great property to stay in. Hide

The farmhouse was sensitively renovated , tastefully furnished to a very high standard The equipment throughout from bathrooms to kitchen was of superior quality making Springfield a delight to be in . I highly recommend Springfield Farm - a beautiful and well equipped cottage in a stunning location perfect for exploring the Dales. We will definitely book again.

Lovely property, beautiful area. Springfield is set in a small hamlet with beautiful countryside around. Plenty of space for our family of 4 along with grandparents.

Beautiful cottage, cosy and spacious in a peaceful location and great to have a games room. Lovely views, even from the loo! We were sad to leave. Would definitely stay there again.

We had an excellent time staying here. Plenty of space both in and outside the house for 6 adults and a dog and beautifully furnished but cosy and comfortable too.
