Built for two, this one-bedroom cottage is a stylish retreat with a modern interior. All on one level, this annexe is tucked away in a peaceful rural location just outside the market town of Ashbourne. It is a Victorian town at the southern end of the Peak District National Park and is known as the ‘Gateway to the Peaks’. There are many designer clothes shops, antique emporiums, restaurants and pubs for you to explore during your stay.

Enter through a wide doorway and make yourselves at home in the first room, an open-plan lounge/kitchen – a bright and airy space thanks to the two large sliding doors at each end. The lounge area has rattan furniture, a coffee table and Smart TV, while the kitchen features a breakfast bar and stools, high-gloss fitted units and some appliances for a comfortable stay. You also have access to the owner’s washing machine if required. If the breakfast bar is not suitable, a table and chairs can be provided. The bedroom offers a comfortable king-size bed, a chest of drawers and a TV. You then have a wet room with a rain head shower and rinser attachment, plus a WC.

Outside, there is a level patio area adjacent to the property, with garden furniture and a gas barbecue. You also have access to the owner’s extensive grounds, including a scenic footpath around the two lakes.

This is a beautiful, quiet and spectacular setting perfect for a quiet getaway. Although not in the Peak District National Park it is within close proximity and does not take long to get to the places of interest. Ashbourne is close and a nice old market town to visit. The Annexe is very comfortable and well equipped. Having access to the sRead morewimming is a great bonus to the property. The jewel in the crown is the hosts, they make you feel very welcome and are are very friendly and helpful. This is a very special place to stay and unwind. Hide

The property is absolutely fantastic, very difficult to put into words how nice it is. Great location with a top class interior fit out. Everything you need and more. Bed was the best I have ever slept on and the walk in shower was great. Swimming pool and facilities were way above our expectations and the fishing was great fun with plenty of choicRead moree. The owners are first class and they go over and above to make your stay memorable. Would certainly go back as I would love to experience the place in the summer. The Owners have created a very special place in the Twin Lakes Annexe. The accommodation is very beautifully appointed, the setting stunning and the welcome so warm and friendly. We loved every minute and had a wonderful week - we would love to return, possibly to see the bluebells in the woods near the lake in spring. We returned home so rested - Read morethe best. From the moment we arrived at the property we knew we had struck gold. It is a wonderful property in a stunning location and the hosts Mary and George were so welcoming. The welcome pack was exceptionally good as well and a nice surprise and put to very good use. For those with an interest in fishing, this was very good with hard fighting caRead morerp up to 15lb, with most of the fish caught low doubles, together with some lovely roach. This is undoubtedly one of the best properties we have ever stayed in and we will definitely return and thanks again to Mary and George for such a wonderful week. Hide

Truly perfect accommodation, couldn't possibly be better. George and Mary are wonderful hosts, so welcoming and helpful. Derbyshire countryside is superb and lots of National Trust places around. Don't miss Hardwick Hall and Calke Abbey.

What a really lovely place to stay. The annex was perfect. It has everything you need... great modern kitchen, swimming pool and lots more. Mary and George were both very nice and helpful, welcomed us from the minute we arrived. Will definitely come back. The lakes and woodland with wildlife were very relaxing.

What a lovely warm welcome we received. The sights were breathtaking and the annexe was immaculate. The welcome basket was a truly lovely touch... We came here as a birthday gift for my husband as he's a keen fisherman... he said it's magnificent. We'd expected something unusual but not such spectacular landscaping and engineering. The main house, and the annexe in which we stayed, must have some of the best views in the county: two lakes stocked with fish, and a population of ducks, moorhens, coots and more; and when we stayed the bluebells were coming into bloom in the woodland. A wonderful, relaxing break. Such comfortable and well-equipped accommodation in the most idyllic setting. Sitting by the lake was the most peaceful thing in the world! Swimming pool was lovely too. What a wonderful welcome we received from Mary and George. The Annexe was beautiful and fully equipped with everything you would need being away from home, with the added bonus of a swimming pool for me and fishing lakes for hubby. He caught mirror and common carp weighing in at 15lb. We visited the Heights of Abraham, not suitable if you're unsteaRead moredy on your feet. The Tram Museum at Crich was worth a visit... We did indeed have a lovely week at Twin Lakes Annexe. The annexe is very comfortable and well appointed, in a beautiful setting, and it was a bonus for us to have use of the swimming pool and the fishing lakes and watch the wildlife. The location is so peaceful but near to local amenities. Our hosts, George and Mary, gave us a such a welcome. ItRead more was a privilege to be the first people to stay there.
