A gorgeous gem in the heart of Matlock. Set in the gateway to the Peak District, and perfectly placed, Smedley Street boasts a local micro-brewery and stone baked pizza to either eat in or take away. Matlock and Matflock Bath have a great combination of dog friendly places to eat and drink, dramatic scenery created by the limestone cliffs, and quirky independent shops. You have lovers walk set by the River Derwent and leading from Matlock into Matlock Bath. High Tor leads up to Abraham Heights, with cavern tours and a fabulous restaurant and café. For your fix of wonderful Derbyshire history, Historic Chatsworth House, and Haddon Hall are both about 6 miles away and extremely popular. From flat circulars and old railway routes like the Manifold Route, to high peaks and challenging distances.

The property itself is rich in colour, style and comfort. Entering into the hallway, there is lots of space to decant your coat and shoes and walk down a few steps into the dining room. Sheepskin throws, panelled walls and accents of colour, add style and comfort to this light, open space. The kitchen leads off from the dining room and is a large and well-equipped space that is perfect for rustling up a meal for the group. From the dining room, enter into the lounge, with deep rich colours that invite relaxation. Games, a Smart TV and fabulous pictures and features make this a wonderful place to finish in after a day's exploring. Upstairs, each room offers unique design, perfect amounts of storage and plenty of space. From the hallway, up some stairs leads to a family bathroom, offering a shower and separate bath. The larger room has its own en-suite and offers a super-king-size bed. The other rooms are made up of a king-size bed and a twin.

Outside you will find a landscaped garden, with outside seating, a hot tub and BBQ. The hot tub means you can enjoy being outside, even on the frostiest of days, but equally is a great way to enjoy those summer evenings as well.

We had an amazing time at your cottage. We really loved the location, the walks, the hot tub was enjoyed by the kids. The kitchen was well equipped we everything we needed to cook for ourselves. We would definitely book again in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at old butchers cottage. Very comfortable. The hot tub was fab after a day out walking. Only comment we could make was a light at the back of the property would have helped.
