Fab base to explore the area! The Mills, walks, wild swimming, cheese shops...beautiful part of the country. One of our fave cottages for a while! The BRead moreoat Inn Pub and Oakhill Hotel, both easy walking distance, serve lovely food. Amazing bookshop 2 min away too! We live on a main road in a city, so the lorries going past didn't bother us at all, but something to be aware of if youre wanting total peace and quiet. Traffic not an issue at all when sat in the garden. Parking to drop off bags easy, and main parking place in the shade just down the road. Hide

The positive is that the beds were comfy and bedding clean and lucky for us we didnt seem to have a issue with the traffic , unfortunately the negative was the kitchen cleanliness was awful dirty fridge mould round seal , dirty toaster , dirty cooker and the cutlery was dirty , I really think the kitchen had been overlooked the cupboards had used cRead moreondiments in where some of them had leaked and stuck to the plastic lining they had put in the cupboards, and the cobwebs behind the tv stand were ancient. And the microwave definitely needs replacing as the inside is perished and it needs a seal round the front door as it is very draughty. Response from Holiday Cottages: Thank you for your feedback. Cottage is lovely and in a central position for the town - and the allocated parking space is close and in a private car park so felt safe and easy to access. There are so many beautiful walks from the door, and historical buildings/leisure activities to explore if it rains - too much to cover in a week! It was clean, warm and welcoming with plentyRead more of kitchen equipment for self catering every meal. However, a family of four with grown up children might find it a squeeze. It is on three floors so not suitable for those with mobility issues - and those on the top floor do need to negotiate uncarpeted stairs to the bathroom at night, if needed, which feel a bit slippy. Noise from traffic is an issue if you are a light sleeper - we did move out a day early as my friend was woken very early (4.30am) by lorries passing, even with ear plugs. But I should say that I slept well - and I wouldn't say I am a heavy sleeper. Hide
