A beautiful well laid out property, with lots of spaces inside and out, perfect for family and friends to enjoy. Set in Ashbourne, gateway to the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales, and nestled on a quiet hillside with unobstructed views to the open countryside, it’s a short walk to the colourful market square with shops, cafes, and pubs to provide lots to see and do. Steps away is a network of country footpaths and cycle trails including Tissington Trail with nearby cycle hire. Visit Carsington Water (7 miles), with walks, cycling, and water sports to enjoy. Enjoy family fun at Alton Towers (12 miles), Peak Wildlife Park (11 miles), Museum of Childhood at Sudbury Hall (11 miles), and Great British Car Journey (15 miles). Be sure to set time aside to explore Chatsworth House (20 miles) and gardens, navigate the garden maze and treat yourself to a leisurely afternoon tea.

The property itself is accessed via a private driveway offering plenty of off-street parking space. The main entry to the house is via the porch, which is equipped with a useful long bench for changing and storing footwear as well as hooks to hang hats and coats after a day out in Derbyshire. The hallway, lounge, and dining room share the same, beautifully restored, original hardwood parquet flooring. The hallway leads on to a well-equipped kitchen, the perfect place to enjoy making meals together. This is just one of many rooms that has been thoughtfully prepared for guests. Leading from the kitchen is a lovely conservatory with a small breakfast table and doors leading to the back garden, parking area, covered outdoor lounge with seating for at least 6 people, BBQ, and al fresco dining for 6. Also off the kitchen is an open plan dining room and lounge benefiting from patio doors that lead onto a spacious front deck and further seating. The deck looks onto the pretty enclosed-front garden with its mature trees, hedgerows and abundant birdlife. With town and country views and a sun awning for those hot summer days, hanging out on the deck is a lovely way to spend the afternoon with family and friends. Back in the lounge is an electric fireplace and Smart TV with Freeview. There’s seating for 6 with 2 new comfortable sofas, accent chairs, and coffee table. One of the sofas is a sofa bed for 1-2 persons. There’s also a sideboard containing toys and games for those family times after a day exploring. Upstairs there are three lovely bedrooms all tastefully furnished and all with breathtaking dale views. Two rooms enjoy king-size beds and the other has two single beds. Completing the property is the family bathroom.

The beautiful green space and multitude of seating options outside, combined with the cozy, centrally heated rooms inside, making this an ideal getaway to enjoy year-round.

The Cottage was a home from home with every comfort, spotlessly clean, all the kitchen equipment you could require, very comfortable beds. If there was one fault it was that the garden was not secure for our dog, which had to be on her leash all the time. The drive had no gate and both garden areas had gapes sufficient for a dog to get through, oneRead more of which was on to the main road. Whilst this was a concern it did not detract from our enjoyment as our dog is still quiet young and requires supervision. Hide

Had a wonderful weekend. Perfect place to leave your car behind and explore the town, and walks. The house is great and we loved all the added touches for us and the dog.

This has been the perfect place for our family Christmas get-together, thank you! The house is really lovely and so well equipped, much thought and care has gone into it. Even down to providing Xmas decorations! The 'welcome box' is a lovely touch.
