Boasting a stunningly thoughtful finish throughout, this charming property provides guests with a warm and inviting retreat whilst exploring the picturesque Derbyshire countryside. Built in the 1700s for the workers at the Strutt family's mills, the stone terraced cottage is located on a renowned cobbled street in the heart of the award-winning market town, Belper. At the centre of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, it’s a town steeped rich in industrial heritage and creative culture. Meander through its cobbled streets to find independent boutiques, delicious eateries and historic sites aplenty. The North Mill and visitor centre makes for an educational day out, whereas the Belper River Gardens is a tranquil space amongst nature whatever the season with rowing boats available for hire during the summer months. Whilst sitting just south of the Peak District National Park you can explore the nearby sights of Matlock (10 miles) and Bakewell (18miles) with absolute ease.

Upon entering this beautifully crafted cottage, you have ample space to hang up your coat and kick off your shoes after a fun filled day of adventure, before moving into the stylishly cosy living room. The property has been both renovated and decorated to an incredibly high standard with comfortable furniture throughout. A timeless antique reading chair is nestled in the corner of the room waiting for someone to settle in for a cosy evening, or a relaxing afternoon read with one of the many books on offer throughout the home. With ample sofa space, spend your evenings cuddled around a quirky wood-burning fire, opting for the family's favourite board game or a classic film from the DVD collection or Smart TV. If cooking is your thing, there are recipe books aplenty, so you'll thoroughly enjoy concocting a delicious evening meal with locally sourced produce from the town, in this spacious and homely, well-equipped kitchen. Or if not, an air fryer is on hand for those who prefer to rustle up something tasty and quick. Coffee lovers are spoilt for choice with a selection of Nespresso Vertuo pods provided for the coffee machine and a milk frother to make sure you kick start your day. Adjacent to the kitchen, you will discover an internal outhouse, providing a dining area that's complete with original brick work and character. A beautifully handmade wood dining table and bench area create another light and airy living space for you to ponder on what once was here on the property. A hidden door in the kitchen invites you upstairs, where you're welcomed by 3 good sized, contemporary-designed bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom offers a high-quality king-size bed, fitted wardrobes with iron and ironing board, and a window looking out to the outside space. You'll find a double bed in the second bedroom, and a single bed in the third - all tastefully furnished and with everything you need for a good night's sleep. The family bathroom consists of a WC and shower over the bath.

Exiting from the internal out house, enjoy a long enclosed garden which is perfect for all the family, including the dog! The garden is loosely separated into 3 parts; the paved patio with outdoor dining and BBQ, a well-kept lawn area and finally a small orchard complete with a pear tree. A gate to the rear of the garden takes you on an adventure through the cobbled streets of Belper, a pretty shortcut right into the centre of town

Olives Place is simply wonderful. It was immaculate on arrival, and was a great place to stay with everything we needed for the week. We had a couple of minor queries which the owner was really quick to respond to, and the location - 5 mins from the centre of Belper - is a great base for exploring both locally and wider. Wed happily move in permaneRead morently, but since thatss not an option, well definitely be returning as guests :) Hide

We had a fantastic few days at Olive's Place. Rob the owner was in touch ahead of our stay and was extremely helpful throughout. The property itself is very nice and very well equipped with everything you could need, and the extra touches the owners have added really made for a great stay. Lovely enclosed garden at the back great for the dog; BelRead moreper itself a short walk away with a good choice of places to eat and drink. Highly recommended - will definitely return ! Hide
