Lavish a little luxury on yourselves with a stay at this special Peak District cottage. Situated near Ashford in the Water, the impressive, two-bedroom farm retreat is just 400 metres from the 8.5-mile-long Monsal Trail and 2.5 miles from bustling Bakewell. Sleeping four guests, it is perfect for two couples on a Derbyshire break together or a small family with older children. The exquisite cottage has a wood burner for winter stays and a lawned garden for the summer sun.

Wander inside to discover this sumptuous abode has been cleverly designed to offer reverse-level living. Downstairs, you will find an inviting king-size bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom. There is also a twin bedroom and family bathroom. Make your way up to the first floor to emerge in the splendid lounge, with its high vaulted ceiling and exposed timbers and stonework. Lay a fire in the wood burner on chilly days then relax in its comfortable glow as you watch the Smart TV or a DVD. Choose a book or a game to play in here too. The nearby kitchen/diner features everything you are likely to need to help you whip up delicious meals with the produce you have bought during your stay. There is a table in here too for your jolly holiday meals. Have lunch out in the lawned garden on sunny days. Open a bottle of wine at the picnic table on clear nights and watch the stars come out above you. There is parking for one car, with a second space possibly available upon enquiry.

Head into Bakewell to potter in the shops and sit down to a plate of the town’s famous pudding. While away an afternoon at Chatsworth House, 4.5 miles away, and explore its magnificent gardens. Impressive Haddon Hall is also 4.5 miles away.

This cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We had everything we needed. It's a good location - very close to Bakewell which is a very attractive little town.
