A cosy one bedroom house with easy access to picturesque local walks. It is located inbetween Matlock and Bakewell. The house is set off a busy road but the noise isn't noticeable inside.

Booked at the last minute but what a beautiful cottage. Can not believe how lucky we got with the wash house cottage. From walking in the front door there was a bottle of wine, packet of crisps and a packet of chocolate digestives with a card welcoming us and a pint of milk in the fridge, with somewhere to hang coats and lead along with a shoe raRead moreck so you can leave the mucky shoes to dry off. You walk through the next door into a well laid out kitchen with everything you may need if cooking a meal. The bathroom just off the kitchen is tastefully designed and the power shower is amazing. The lounge has comfortable sofa and chairs with a dining table for having a meal at, we also fell in love with the coffee table. Loved the fact there was WiFi a working TV with plenty of channels to choose from (which has been an issue at previous places we have stayed at) It was lovely lighting the log burner at night and I even enjoyed cleaning it out the next morning and relaying it ready to light it again at night. The welcome file was informative about the wash house and its previous life was so interesting and the information about the surrounding area was a lovely touch. The leaflets gave us ideas as to things to do and see plus also a few takeaway menus what a great touch. A few minutes walk away from the wash house was a lovely public footpath alongside the railway line (was lovely to see the steam train running on the weekend we stayed) And meant we could walk our dog safely away from traffic. When the front door was shut you couldnt hear anything from the outside world and the enclosed back garden was so peaceful when sat in the hot tub and so relaxing. The bedroom was spacious and bed was very comfortable, with a wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and a draw underneath. Didnt use the bath tub in the bathroom as we are hot tub and shower fans. We found lovely shops not far away and a great Sunday roast at the farmers feast near Bakewell (also a big car park there for quick walk into Bakewell) We will definitely be booking again, why wouldnt you with such a beautiful cottage to stay in. Thank you so much Our only mistake not booking a longer stay Annie, Mark and Henry the dog Hide

We had a lovely long weekend at the cottage. Ideally located for the steam train. There are some nice dog friendly pubs nearby. We arrived and the cottage was very clean and cosy. Good idea putting the hot tub under a canopy for rainy days! Definitely recommend reversing into the drive. Our little dog enjoyed exploring the fully enclosed garden tooRead more! Hide

Beautiful, cosy and well situated cottage. The owners have done a wonderful job of restoring it and we couldnt have asked for a better or more comfortable place to stay. So close to Chatsworth which is why we were visiting for my partners birthday celebration. Thank you so much.

This is a really nice cottage with great facilities. The garden is completely enclosed which was perfect for our escape artist dog! The hot tub is a great addition and the house really does have everything you need. The only downside is there are no local shops within walking distance so it is a drive of around 10mins into town to get anything you Read moreneed. However, the property itself is the perfect blend of modern and traditional and we really enjoyed our stay. There are no complaints from us, it was a great stay and we will be looking to book again in the future. Hide
