Wonderful property in a beautiful location. A well equipped, spacious, comfortable house which easily sleeps 7 would suit most groups. There are a lot of stairs as the accommodation is spread over 4 floors kitchen to bedrooms. Beautiful garden with outdoor seating and views of the river and cliffs above. A short walk takes you to Matlock Bath / MatRead morelock or Arkwright's UNESCO mill. I would book again. Hide

We had a lovely family holiday with the river frontage making for a wonderful experience. We all got fit travelling up and down the many flights of stairs (as well as often going in the wrong direction at times!). Future bookers need to be fit and without knee issues. The whole property is a little unkempt and run down, but charming in its own waRead morey. The car parking options are too far away across a busy main road to make outings easy - especially in rain and with young children and a dog. And loading and unloading was arduous as we chose not to try parking on the busy road. All doable, but renter beware. Hide

Lovely house with a very homely feel, good location just a few minutes walk to the centre of Matlock Bath. Spacious with comfy beds and plenty of kitchen equipment. Loved the terraced garden down to the river, sat watching the ducks swimming by. Ideal having two parking spaces. All in all a great stay.

The property was nicely positioned a 5min stroll from Matlock Bath. My three teenage boys enjoyed spending their pocket money in the sweet / gift shops and a day at the Heights of Abraham cable car which included 2 lead mine caves was money well spent. We did two lovely walks from the property past Masson mill to the canal path and another through Read morethe woods around the back of gullivers kingdom. On other day we enjoyed a walk near Carsington reservoir a 10 min drive excellent lunch at miners arms their and a day at Alton towers 45mins. The property is not for the faint hearted across four floors with tricky narrow wooden painted staircases which my parents found a struggle. You had to plan ahead before moving from one floor to another with what you needed to take with you. Nevertheless the rooms once in them were well furnished and cosy. Logburners burnt well and provided extra comfort. Central heating warmed house quickly. Lovely outlook at back of property to river and rocks beyond. Road busy to the front (but were used to that) on main rd through Matlock. Sainsburys in Matlock was our go to for provisions and lovely Indian takeout from Matlock with an interesting menu. Electric issue with oven was fixed and sorted within two hours of reporting by managed services team. Two lounges with TVs meant we could divide up in the evenings for viewing tastes. Well equipped kitchen. Hide
