Host a special group getaway in the charming Peak District town of Bakewell at this spacious and eccentrically elegant 10-person, dog-friendly cottage. Spend your time away exploring the outdoor activities, historical attractions and quaint English towns of Derbyshire. With large, open-plan living spaces, a sunny conservatory and shrub-filled garden, you’ll have everything you need to keep your loved ones entertained.
Inside the two-storey cottage, walk through the hallway to reach an airy, open-plan kitchen/diner with neutral-toned decor, stone flooring and a large fitted kitchen with granite countertops. On the opposite side of the room is a breakfast table for six. Continue into the classic, country-style lounge/diner with a wooden beamed ceiling, wooden furnishings, leather sofas and an armchair. A splash of blue and floral motifs add a homely feel while antique furnishings keep things classy and elegant. Past the formal wooden dining table are glass doors to the sun room with stone flooring, seating space and views of the garden. Also on the ground floor is an en-suite king-size bedroom. Climb the stairs to reach a shower room, a family bathroom and four bedrooms – three king-size and one twin room. Outside is a mature garden with two seating areas and a BBQ. There is private parking for six cars.
While in Bakewell, taste the local staple, the Bakewell tart, visit the town’s museum and walk along the River Wye (all within 1 mile). Visit historical Haddon Hall (5 miles) or Chatsworth House (4.5 miles). Explore the hiking trails through Longstone Moor (4 miles), Kinder Scout (19.5 miles) and National Trust Padley Gorge (9 miles). If you like cycling, there are scenic trails through Curbar Edge (7.5 miles) and Froggatt Edge (6 miles).
