Find true relaxation at this impressive retreat. Sleeping six guests, the magnificent, three-bedroom holiday home encompasses sumptuous accommodation and offers ample space. Nestled in grounds, 1 mile from Tansley and 1.5 miles from Matlock, it has a sunny garden and winter-warming wood burner, and is just 2.5 miles from the undulating greenery of the Peak District.
Step inside the stone haven to find an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With a flagstone floor, pretty beams and a high, vaulted ceiling, this retains all the character of the old barn while also providing high-level, contemporary comfort. Light the wood burner to bring a wonderful glow, then whip up a few treats over in the stylish kitchen area, which has a breakfast bar. The solid wood table is the perfect place to gather to dine and set the world to rights, while the lounge area, a step down, has an abundance of soft seating for reclining on in front of the Smart TV. Overlooking the living area is a lovely, glass-fronted mezzanine space, with futons that can be made up as additional beds for four guests, by special arrangement and for an extra charge. At ground-floor level, there is a family room, with a super-king-size bed and children’s bunks set into an alcove, plus a king-size, four-poster bedroom, with an en-suite shower room. The property also features a family shower room and a family bathroom. Wander out into the sunshine to have lunch at the picnic table in the sunshine with a lovely lawn. There is off-road parking for four cars.
Follow a footpath for 1 mile from the site to see the beautiful Lumsdale Waterfall, set in a scenic valley with a short, circular walk. Head into the Peaks for a day out at splendid Chatsworth House, 9.5 miles away.
